i never really got into the whole skating thing, but i wear skate shoes because i have wider feet and they're more comfortable. go ahead, call me a poser. tongue.gif

i used to like to do art, but now it's kind of boring.

I tried skating once, but fell on my ass going down a driveway. I'll stick to soccer. Soccer shoes (indoor - sambas) are hella comfy too.

What are skater shoes? Vans? I'm curious because I hear a lot of skaters at my school complaining about people jocking their style.

um...well i have a pair of etnies that i've had for a year and i wanted to get a new pair of dc's, but they didn't come in my size. i think of skater shoes as like etnies, dc's, stuff like that. those canvas shoes...are just part of trend? i'd like to say i started that trend though because back in preschool, i had canvas shoes with dinosaurs on them that were EXACTLY like today's vans.

Yeah skater shoes are those wide shoes, typically Vans or DC, and they've got hella cushioning on the inside and they're wide. Not great for running, but great for walking around or skating (go figure)

i finally got some new shoes the other day though, but they're adidas. i still like them though, probably more than my etnies. it was sweet, too, because they were on sale so i got 2 pair for like $75.

So, I'm totally going to date myself, but back when I was in middle school and high school we mostly wore low top Chucks, always black.

I used to be a little skater chick. A group of us had The Cure, The Smiths, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Misfits and Dead Kennedys perpetually playing in our cassette Walkmans.

I used to be pretty good too. The guys would crack up because I'd skate around with a lit cigarette in my mouth. I always was a bit of a tomboy.

I had a pair of Vans in 8th grade. I didn't know what those shoes were about, just that they were comfy and looked cool. laugh.gif

I'm so totally not a skater so it's funny to look back on that.

But did you ever play indoor soccer?! haha. Poser.

Indoor soccer is so much more intense than outdoor.

^it's not as professional as outdoor soccer, like mls, but they have professional leagues for it. we used to have a team in kansas city, but they folded and all the players moved to different teams.

Hit the nets, it's a throw in. Hit the nets near the goal, it's a kick. Hit the top nets, it's a kick. Slide, it's a blue card. 6 people on the field from each team. No substitutions. 20 minute halves. Nonstop. Walls to run people into if it's within the rules, and walls to bounce stuff off of. Small field, you can't really stop moving around.

When a team gets up by I think 4 points, the losing team can bring in another player, and another for each 2 points they have up.
If you're 6 points down, you can bring in 2 players
8 - 3
10 - 4

really?

ours is like 30 minute halves. if it hits the net, it's a kick from around the spot it hit. i think it's 6 players as well, but you can sub anytime (even if play is going on). yadda yadda, the rest is probably the same.

Oh right right, kick, not throw in. I was thinking if it hits the side net behind the goal the keep can throw it. And yeah, by no subs I meant no pauses in the clock to sub.

i have adidas shoes for mostly running, a pair of vans and etnies just for doing whatever, pumas for tennis (though that doesn't really work so well), casual pumas for whatever, and adidas sambas for kungfu and doing whatever :) and some foreign shoes for kungfu... they were crazily cheap.

they're all really nice. i used to buy cheap shoes and they wouldn't last at all, but the shoes i have now have lasted me foreverr.

so pretty much, i like running and kungfu mostly..? uhh

My parents bought me a skateboard, but then they taped all the Scarred episodes that involved skateboarding accidents and showed them to me because they didn't like the idea of me on a skateboard. "It's not very lady like." >.< So no, I stick to basketball and soccer...I never knew about this indoor soccer hub bub.
