Is smoking weed that harmless?I know for certain alcohol and cigs can mess up your life but other than the mtv commercials whats wrong with weed?

Weed in my opinion is no worst than cigarettes. Cigarettes are more addictive than weed. It depends on the person too. I say this because my dad have smoke weed for years and stop because his job. Now jobs are cracking down on cigarettes too. When you isn't allow to smoke AT ALL (Not even outside, that's mostly hospital though). For my parents it was harder to stop smoking than anything. I think cigarettes should be illegal.

Yeah but there are equal studies with evidence proving the opposite. Regarding the murderer, that's not because of weed, it's because that person is a bad person and they used weed as an excuse to do what t hey desired.

I honestly don't see how marijuana is illegal, yet alcohol and ciggarettes aren't. I remember hearing on the radio once that weed causes paranoia or something, but that's only if you're an avid pot smoker. For the most part, I don't think it should be illegal to begin with and as long as people are smart about how they use it, it shouldn't be a problem.

edit: Weed only causes paranoia because you don't want to be caught. I've never been paranoid about anything except police.

legalize marijuana since people do it with alcohol anyways.
prohibition again, but we saw how well that worked.

Both marijuana and alcohol are good for you in moderation. A glass of red wine every day gives you a stronger heart. Marijuana has medical benefits.

i've heard that it was made illegal as a way to harass minorities, they made claims that it made minorities more violent. because supposedly (at the time this law was made) black and mexican communities preferred marijuana, while people of european descent preferred alcohol. the white people got to keep theirs, while the minorities didn't.

but that's just something i've heard that similar to what u said, i've never read that anywhere credible

i don't think so. it depends what you mean by worse. cigarettes are more likely to give you cancer, but cigarettes don't "change your state of mind" like weed does. and oh yea, cigarettes are physically addictive, your body can get hooked to it, but that doesn't apply to weed.

No, but I'll do it anyway. I think you're getting confused in that cigarettes are mainly extremely harmful due the addictiveness of nicotine thus smoking it for however many years. Marijuana doesnt contain any substance that is physically addictive thus one could possibly quit at any time if there was no mental addiction.

A more accurate comparison based on studies by Dr. Tashkin's group is that marijuana smokers absorb four times as much tar in their lungs than cigarette smokers per weight smoked.
