So when Snape says that he's "always" loved....who is that directed to? Lily or Harry? Before this thread, I always thought it was Harry. I mean, Dumbledore wouldn't ask if Snape loved Lily, considering Snape asked Voldemort to spare her life.

I think he means he will always love her, even if she's dead.

...I miss Harry Potter. It's oooover. I'm starting to feel the sadness.

Why for the love of God would it have been Harry? All Harry was to Snape was a reminder of his lost love and the constant humiliation James Potter put him through.

For the record, James did seem like sort of a dick. Like that Jock everyone pretends to like but everyone really hates except for his true friends who really just want a leader.

For all her fabulous plot twists and exciting quests, JK can sometimes be a real pain in the ass when you want straight answers.

My favorite book was 4. Seriously owned. Everything was "spot on".

Holy crap, this may have been my favorite book of the series. It gave the most character development, I thought.

I'm glad all the questions were put to closure in this final book, and I always knew Snape was a good guy! It's awesome Rowling paired the theme of love to Snape. awesomme.

My childhood died along with this last book. I grew up w/ em and now it's done. =(

I thought the epilogue was..an epilogue as it should be. It wasn't suppose to be long, or otherwise it would be a new novel. Though, Rowling has posted on the internet a more detailed epilogue, if someone wants to search for it.

Can someone reference me to the part about discovering magic late in life? Apparently I have no idea about this.

i am now re-reading it, i just couldn't part with the book. ugh i feel so bad for snape, his story truly was heart wrenchingly sad. same for dumbledore, all that propaganda against him, and to know that it wasn't like everyone said anyway.

"NOT MY DAUGHTER YOU BITCH!"
xD
What I want to know is what happened to the house cup for the past couple books. Why did she even put it in there? Ah, I suppose to show the competition between the houses, but it still bugs me how it was there and so major and then it just disappeared T.T

Snapes memories were definitely my favorite part.

^I'm pretty sure the whole school was too busy fighting Voldemort to worry too much about the House Cup...

As I think I've already said (but ill say it again!), Snape is by far my new favorite besides DUmbledore.

QUOTE
Harry, Ron and Hermione
We know that Harry marries Ginny and has three kids, essentially, as Rowling explains, creating the family and the peace and calm he never had as a child.

As for his occupation, Harry, along with Ron, is working at the Auror Department at the Ministry of Magic. After all these years, Harry is now the department head.

“Harry and Ron utterly revolutionized the Auror Department,” Rowling said. “They are now the experts. It doesn’t matter how old they are or what else they’ve done.”

Meanwhile, Hermione, Ron’s wife, is “pretty high up” in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, despite laughing at the idea of becoming a lawyer in “Deathly Hallows.”

Since Voldemort was afraid of death, did he choose to be a ghost if so where does he haunt or is this not possible due to his horcruxes?

JKR: No, he is not a ghost. He is forced to exist in the stunted form we witnessed in King's Cross.

in case you were wondering about what the crying thing was @ king's cross, it was voldemort.

more here. :)

+ am i the only one who thought the house elves w/ knives hilarious?

Snapedinhalf: You promised that someone will do magic late in life in book 7. I’ve now read it three times but cant work out who it might have been! Please help!!

J.K. Rowling: I’m sorry about this, but I changed my mind!

J.K. Rowling: My very earliest plan for the story involved somebody managing to get to Hogwarts when they had never done magic before, but I had changed my mind by the time I’d written the third book.

Chucky: Have you had another alternatives as book title apart from deathly hallows

J.K. Rowling: The two other possibilities were ‘the Elder Wand’ (used instead as a chapter title) and ‘the Peverell Quest’, which I decided against quite quickly. I think the word ‘Quest’ is a bit corny!

Hey you guys, why do you think Hermoine's Patronus was an otter and Ron's a dog?

So the crying figure at King's Cross was the Voldermort that was part of Harry? Or just Voldermort in his entirety?

Haha and I mixed up Dobby with Kreacher. Oh yeah, and it would have been nice to see what had happened to Cho Chang too.

It was the part of Voldemort's soul that was in Harry, as Harry was a Horcrux.

otters have a reputation for being hard-working.
and ron is generally a loyal person... while being emotional?

oh, hell.

Gah I think reading the epilogue may have ruined the book a bit for me.
