Yesssss! OMG,Like Its hard for me to pay attention when I read,Like sometimes I have to read it twice! Like if the book is like thrilling and its something I want to read it seems like I understand it but yea. And I have a HUGE problem reading silently,I really dont get it then,I have to read out loud to understand better!

It depends, if it's a good book, I'll stick to it, if it's boring, I'll take a break.

I love reading. It makes me sad to hear someone can't enjoy it as much as I can :(
You should try finding a book you're interested in. There's a lot of good stuff in those pages! |

The topic of this thread makes me sad. You fools should read. It IS beneficial.
You don't have to read the whole book in one sitting. Take a chapter and then take a break. If you can't focus then...it's either not a good book or you have a problem. Everyone can find books they like. |

you just have to find books that you can enjoy.
either that or maybe you have ADD. That would explain a lot, actually. And how can you not see how reading helps you? Your vocabulary gets bigger, your reading comprehension is better, you actually spend time THINKING about something and using your imagination for once... Duh... |

Yes it does. Reading can get you a long way. When you sign a contract, you need to read that contract to see what you getting yourself into or else people is going to rip you off. Same thing with math. You is going to read and do math all your life so you mind as well get use to it.
edit// Yes I meant contract, honest mistake. |

Reading is the best way to become an elite essay writer and getting obscenely high reading/writing SAT scores.
Readying a book forces the brain to convert the words you read into images in your head. Also, subconsciously, you are absorbing all the correct grammar and syntax, and when you go on to take tests, you'll get those reading questions where you go "what the f**k? huh?" but your instinctual answer (I think A is right...) is more often correct. It stimulates your brain more than watching TV - the brain doesn't process much at all in front of a TV. I don't know about using the computer...I've been arguing about that with my parents for 10 years. All in all, you will regret that you didn't read when you were little. |

I have lots and lots of ADD moments, although I've never been diagnosed.
I used to be a really good reader. The last book I read only took me two hours but it wasn't quite 200 pages. Don't laugh, but I used to have OCD (I still have my moments) and it would be a challenge for me to read, because I would turn the page like a hundred times before I was happy with the way I turned it. |

Reading has never been a problem for me.
If its an assignment, I'll finish it soon. If it is not forced on me, and on my free time, I will despise it, and think it is a waste of time. Most of the books I read now have these ridiculously long words, no human would use in daily language and I don't fancy keeping my head still in one place for two hours. |

I don't have that issue. I looove to read. I learned to read really early and when I was young, I'd get in trouble for reading at the wrong times, it was quite funny actually.

I think you have a problem called ADD. It can be easily corrected with some drugs.

^ Haha, seriously.
Better vocabulary, better English.. Yeah, it's supposed to increase it, dude. It was pretty much said in earlier posts. I don't see how anyone could dislike reading unless it's a horrible book. Jason, since you like kdramas, maybe you should pick up a book that's somewhat similar to it. |
