Trend Setters, What do you think? Options

I notice that most people are followers when it comes to wearing cloths or talking a certain way...to the way you eat...to how you make your bed...for some reason it seems like people look at trend setters and mimic many things about them...why is this?...do trend setters have such a big influence that we all just tend to follow sub consciously without knowing?

I want your input in this matter. To better understand the population of the younger generation of today. Because it baffles me how much like sheep we all really are.

Sadly... the trends of today with these children is wearing skanky clothes, baggy clothes. Name brand clothes, no matter how much their parents have to suffer to come up with the money for their kids clothing. On top of that the music they listen to creates a curiousity in their minds. These curiousities is sex and drugs (this is obliviously obvious) Another problem is, they're communication skills. They're neglecting how to properly type, write, and speak. To make it worst, there's children at the age of 10 years old who's vocabulary consist of every curse word known to man. And it's all disgusting.


I don't have problems with trend setters, as long as they're positive. They're not a trend of which causes idolizing, dropping out of school, curiousities of drugs and sex. Etc...

I'm 23 years old, and to be honest, I don't care for name brand. I rather spend money on real needs and important things in my life. Than some stupid shirt with a brand on it. When the fact of the matter is... the shirt cost $3 to make, the person who made the shirt was only paid $0.30 to make it. And finally when they add the stupid brand name/logo, the shirt comes out being $20-$100.


I'd rather buy some non-name brand clothes that fit properly, look good, and matches with the rest of my outfit.

I'm a non-conformist. Not because I'm a follower, but because no one controls me, I make my own decisions consciously and subconsciously. Yes that is possible... just control your mind, don't let your mind control you. Naw mean?

Because whatever it is rather it's how you wear your hair or clothes. I think the singer/artist/model plays a big role on that. We do whatever look best on us base on skin tone or body structure, whatever looks better, that is the trend you is going to follow.

i guess its the way we look at things. we see someone do something cool, or interesting. people think well why can't i do it like that? so they try to mimic it. its all a self concious [sp?] way that we live. i dont think ive met not one person, who hasn't taken the influence off another person. why? because we all do it. although me might not notice.

I will admit I do follow a trend, but one of which is nothing similar to society, common society at least.

Maybe for one who's narrow minded and lives inside the box. To think we should all conform in order to survive is foolish. I live and think outside the box... conformity is needed of course, like at work... and to conform to a country's language, culture, and way of life.

But you don't need to conform your thoughts and lifestyle. Sorry, I'm not controlled by Nazis. Think of it this way... technically normality is hard to define. Because there's many normalities, but they can contradict each other... just like conformities. What you think is normal, may not be normal to some one else. What you think you need to conform to in order to "survive" someone else may not think so.

Because there is no such thing as a normal lifestyle, I never claimed that.

That's what I admit, I conform to some things and I don't conform to others. Yes I conformed to non-conformist. But it's not a trend, because it's like saying, I'm normal.. when in reality, there is no normality, it's a contradiction or not normal depending the point of views.

Being non-conformist technically isn't a trend, it's a way of life and thought.

And I guess I look at magazines to see what they're wearing but I don't go out and buy the exact same thing, I work around it with what I have already.

hm.... Bodybuilding? Well I love to look good, look muscular and be strong. I don't want health problems later... nor do I ever want someone to try and rob me or put a knife up to my neck lol.

Or the MP3 player?... I need the MP3 player for gym lol.. that's just a fact. My GYM plays crap music like Jessica Alba crap. I need heavy metal for the gym.

It started as a fad, the fad has lasted long enough to become a trend, in my point of view. The fad has lasted over a decade... I think it could be called a trend by now, since it's a type of normality, at least in the U.S.

Look at what the kids are wearing. Then put it on nickolodeon (strong mispell) look at the cartoons and the shows.. look at how they're dressed.

I say it's a trend... some say it's a fad.

Wow, quite sad when a grown man needs intellectualize himself in order to make himself feel better. Take a college course? Yes cause you know, once you take a college course, your knowledge about one subject becomes absolute. But I digress.
