The best sentence of the series was 'Ron, just because you have the emotional range of a tea-spoon...'

And I quite like the Epilogue, as it goes...

I knowww. XD.gif

Definitely cried in this one. It was sooo intense. Amazing book, I absolutely adored it. But yeah the Dobby/Kreacher parts were so sad...and Fred and George! That really upset me, but yeah I actually kinda liked the epilogue part. =)

OMG IT'S OVER
SPOILER ALERT
SPOILER ALERT
SPOILER ALERT

GET OUT IF YOU ARE NOT FINISHED

So anyways, I'm sick of highlighting everything, so I'm making another thread for people who have finished the book and want to discuss it without having to use the spoiler thinige. B/c they're not even really spoilers anymore.

Who else thought it was great when Mrs. Weasley said "NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH!"

or when Kreacher hit Mundungus with the pan and asked if he could one more time, "just for luck."

or when THE HORCRUX SPROUTED OUT HARRY AND HERMIONE hahaha

or when George came up with the "holey" ear jokes

Who else cried when Hedwig died?

When Dobby died?

When they made Dumbledore seem evil? (I actually put my book down and cried for like 15 minutes before I got back to reading)

When Ron left?!?!!?!

Unanswered questions:

Who could perform magic later in life?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!

Why wasn't the last word scar?

Where did Sirius go?! WTF?! Wasn't he supposed to have a bigger role in this novel?

What "worst memory" did Dudley experience when he was attacked by dementors in Order of the Phoenix?

"All was well."

A poem by Henry Scott Holland that should be looked at.

FAQ

Who was the crying baby thing in the King's Cross chapter? Voldemort's soul that was part of Harry (I'm guessing)

Why was Lily's and Harry's eyes so significant? Snape's love. Dumbledore even told Snape those exact details when Harry was born. Harry's eyes were necessary for Snape to conjure up the memories for Harry to see in the pensieve to carry on.

Is Ron a PARSELTONGUE?! No, you f**ktards. Ron simply copied the hissing noises that Harry made to open up the locket. T_T Being a parseltongue means that you can fluently speak with snakes. Just like saying "konichiwa" doesn't mean you're fluent in Japanese.

Did you notice?

Voldy and Harry are distantly related.

How awesome the Ravenclaw tower is?!?!?!?!

Who dies?

All the answers in this thread, haha

That book was basically life changing.

I cried SO much throughout the course of the book. I cried whenever anyone died and when Ron left (?!?!?! it was stupid of him!!) and I even cried when everyone was attacking Dumbledore and saying he was a terrible person. That really broke my heart.

Who else, though, is like in love with Snape now?? I'm telling you, I always knew he was good, and I kinda suspected the whole Lily thing, but now he is definetly one of my favorites.

OH, and that LAST CHAPTER. Just beautiful and heartwarming. That also made me cry (I am a very emotional reader as you can see throb.gif)

*SIGH*...if JK writes another Harry Potter book, however, I'll eat her. It ended so perfectly...

I did a small victory dance after Mrs. Weasley got Bellatrix. Because I am SO COOL.

Oh, and my mother is reading it and is/was bawling her eyes out over Dobby. It's quite scary.

I thought Dobby's death was the saddest of them all. The entire book was an emotional roller coaster, but Dobby! I was blubbing for like twenty minutes during the whole funeral scene. So sad! cry.gif

Me, too.

I was like... "how the f**k can the series go on without RON?!"

Edit: Slowly answering ThomasC's questions...

So Snape was a double agent? Working for both Voldermort and Dumbledore... No. He was working for Dumbledore only. He was pretending to work for Voldemort... and I think it kind of goes with the "for the greater good" thing b/c he killed enough people as well.

How was Draco the true master of the Elder Wand if Snape killed Dumbledore in book 6.
Snape killed Dumbledore, yes. But Draco DISARMED the Elder Wand from Dumbledore, making Draco the true owner. The Elder Wand was taken from Dumbledore by Draco... therefore, it was not Snape's. Snape killed Dumbledore after the wand had been taken by Draco. Snape was also working for Dumbledore, which means the wand was working for Dumbledore... which means.. yeah.

Why doen't the cover of the book look like the Great Hall, but a large Collesum? People are saying this is in the bright flash of light comes in and fills the Great Hall. The only real answer to this question is that it's up to the artists' interpretation.

Who is the person that discover's magic late in life? Everyone that I read discovered it early No one knows for sure, but JKR did say this years ago. It may have been taken out by her editors.

What happened to the Cup? Wasn't it on the end of the swrod when Griphook took it? Or did I just miss something... Yes, you did miss something. Ron and Hermione went into the Chamber of Secrets, took out the basilisk's fangs, and destroyed that horcrux (the cup).

Why didn't Herminone tell them what the fire was? So they could just leave the diadem.. Once again, you missed something. She said she didn't realize it until AFTER the diadem fell apart.

*I was ROFLing.

*I was heartbroken about Dobby's death. I LOVE the Weasly twins but it was nice to see Fred laughing and not dying tragically. But man, oh man, Dobby...cry.gif

*I noticed! Thought it was a bit creepy because in COS, people thought Harry was a descendant of Salazar Slytherin, which would make him more closely related to Voldemort. Anyway, it was both cool and creepy.

I wish we were told more about Sirius, I agree, and also of what Harry parents did, how Lupin and Tonks died, and I was hoping that Petunia would show a little more affection for Harry since shereally did care for him. It was Mr. Dursely who held her back.

Dobby... fallen.gif

Michelle, Harry knew cause he was in there when Dumbledore was killed...

Perhaps it's a Colosseum because she's trying to emphasize the epic battle?

Discovers magic late in life...there was no clarification but perhaps it's Petunia?

The fire killed the Horcrux, it was special fire, I don't remember what it was called though. It was the same effect as basilisk venom.

A few things are still cloudy for me. So Snape was a double agent?
No, he was working for Dumbledore and only him. He pretended to be on Voldys side for Dumbly.

How was Draco the true master of the Elder Wand if Snape killed Dumbledore in book 6.
Cus Snape didn't kill him in a fight, and steal the power. He killed Dumbly cus Dumbly wanted him to. I think its cus Draco was the last one there around. Im not sure tho.

Why doen't the cover of the book look like the Great Hall, but a large Collesum?
Maybe cus the sky roof and all the damage done by the fight ?

Who is the person that discover's magic late in life?
Idono. Everyone that I read discovered it early

What happened to the Cup?
Hermione destroyed it.
Wasn't it on the end of the swrod when Griphook took it?
No Harry grabbed it
Why didn't Herminone tell them what the fire was? So they could just leave the diedim..
Cus she didn't find out it was cursed fire til after.

I have to re-read the book now. Then re-read the entire series.

Fiendfyre is cursed fire which can destroy horcruxes.

Oh, the cover. Harry and Voldemort were circling each other during the final duel. Perhaps the artist just exaggerated that a bit?

^ Agreed. I think it's safe to assume that the artist probably did not know the precise details of th eplot, for security reasons, as the cover art would have been prepared well in advance.

The background of the cover reminds me of King's Cross when Dumbledore and Harry meet up. Anyone else agree?

Keke, lucky people in UK. I thought this cover was more humorous.

If i'd recieved that book, I would be at a loss. That is not what a gringotts vault looks like, even after seeing it in the first movie.

That's how all the covers (the American ones) were for me. I didn't understand them until after the book. mellow.gif
