For the bay area, should I get verizon wireless or at&t?
and what are some good phones for each of the carriers. I want a music phone, and price is not really a problem. but forget the iphone. |

I've heard that Verizon has very good service. I'm not sure if its from the verizon company, but I recommend a chocolate.

Verizon.
the thing i don't like about chocolates is that the buttons are really really sensitive, but you can always change the sensitivity levels |

I have Verizon and I dont like them a whole lot.
If you get a good phone there service isn't bad but if you get a cheap one then you'll get dropped calls a lot. I used to have the Samsung A850 which was a really cheap phone and I had dropped calls about two or three times within an hour conversation. Then for Christmas I got a Chocolate phone and I rarely get dropped calls. Though I never have full bars, usually I have two or three. I only get full bars if Im in a Verizon store or next to a tower. The thing I really hate about them is they always screw up and put stuff on my plan I don't want. Two or three times already my dad got a text message saying that I went over my texts when really I didn't they screwed up. Then he has to call customer service and there CS sucks more then anything. |

AT&T/Cingular (what I have now):
-Good reception -Not much free phones Verizon -Also, good reception -A lot of inexpensive cool phones -LG phones usually have worse reception compared to other phones (no matter what carrier, but Verizon always has LG) T-Mobile -Bad reception (for me, at least) -No good deals for good phones T-Mobile used to be so good, but now it's all bleh. I recommend Verizon or AT&T, but I would choose AT&T, depending if you want cool phones for cheaper or not. |

i have had at&t for the past two years. I've gotten no more than 10 dropped calls for these two years. Sometimes the reception sucks, but I guess I can't complain that much. My phone was some crappy free phone my mom chose when she opened the plan without me!
My plan ends next month (august) and I think we are choosing T-Mobile. More people my brother and I know have t-mobile so we would be wasting less minutes anyways. My brother also wants the sidekick, though I think it's stupid unless you have some obsession over instant messaging or something. I think I might just get the samsung slider or the nokia music express. I'm still not sure, I would love to get some recommendations myself, but maybe later. One of the T-Mobile representatives compared T-mobile and At&t and said that T-mobile is cheaper for family plans, as well. |

I would choose Verizon. I have T-Mobile..I mean I like it a lot, but I loveeee Verizon's phones. That is a first. Phone selection is rather limited compared to other carriers. I use Verizon. It has the better coverage and reception, from my experience. As for phone, it depends what you're looking for. Remember that Verizon phones don't have the sim card, so you can't casually switch with someone else. |

I have AT&T, and I have no problems with it. My other friend just switched from AT&T to Verizon though, and he likes it better.

I have Metro PCs...
For $60 a month: Free long distance Infinite minutes Infinite texting Infinite web browsing Free voice mail Free Directory Assistance I'm debating to get either this phone: http://www.metropcs.com/phonesdetail.php?code=n2865 or: http://www.metropcs.com/phonesdetail.php?code=mL7cSLVR The phone I currently have snapped in half lol... I gotta wait till August 3rd to buy a new phone, supposedly the prices of the phones are gonna drop that day. Which is really good |

^ WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT GET A SLVR.
Out of my kindness, I am warning you: SLVR's are seriously pieces of shit. If I shitted out a cellphone-shaped poop, it would work better than my old SLVR. /Exaggerating It seriously is a terrible phone, though. I will never trust Motorola ever again, no matter how cool their stuff looks. |

Damn don't say that :x My friend has had her phone now since the beginning of December of last year (I remember cuz on that very day, her old phone kept dropping calls every time she would communicate with someone) But ever since then (and I asked her last night) she's never had a problem with the phone. Never dropped a call, never got static, and on top of that the mp3s are crystal clear when played, the picture quality isn't the best, but it's good. The emailing, web browsing, and text messaging are very fast, in sending and receiving data. And the one con is; you can't send pictures, you gotta upload them from your cell to your PC. But that's not even a big deal either. |

I have T-Mobile, and I don't think it has the best reception here. I barely get any bars when I'm at home!

and price is not really a problem. i wish i could say the same. cellphones now a days are so utterly and extremely expensive that its kind of hard for the price not to be an issue (or so my mother says) Anywho i have a SYNC phone by samsung. Its is indeed a nice MP3 phone with a microSD port and touch screen playback. I like it About the service around bayarea im not sure. I have cingular and it works fine in miami. Edit; This phone SUCKS if your big on texting because the keys are fairly large, but the price isnt all that bad with a plan, with out i think its about 200 bucks, and also they come in a variety of colors |

I got sprint, and while a lot of people seem to hate sprint, I kinda like it. The customer service is great whenever you have a question about a bill or whatnot, or plan change. They have unlimited data/text options, which I absolutely love, and I get pretty good service for the most part. Also I like their phones.
