THIS IS A CREATEBLOG PUBLIC SERVICE SPEECH. I REPEAT, THIS IS A CREATEBLOG PUBLIC SERVICE SPEECH. NON HIP HOP FANS FEEL FREE TO COMPLAIN AND POST BS THAT AREN'T EVEN TRUE!!

as you can see, hip hop didn't start out with "laffy taffy" and "snapping your fingers, doing your 2-step" ... Hip Hop isn't just hoes, money and drugs.... it's political, real, violent, hardcore, full of truth and the soundtrack to so many ppl's lives...Rappers shouldn't be disrespected, they should be look upon to. To understand how they struggled back in the day, understand what they fought through, understand their pain, understand the meaning in the lyrics with all your heart, and understand what they do and how they live. it's like experiencing new things through lyrics like if you went out and discovered some new interesting shit. if you don't understand it or can't relate to it, fine, but don't disrespect that art form... I dont understand Country music at all but believe me, I dont disrespect it in any way shape or form... I dont mind Carrie Underwood, Garth Brooks, Tim Mcgraw or Brooks and Dunn.. but I never listen to Country music on my own.... but I don't hate on Country ever...but I'd rather turn down country and choose hip hop music cuz the music is stronger. you guys feel me? the truth is, everybody talks about violence in Hip Hop, the government calls out Hip Hop for violence and degrading women, but are the same losers trying to fight a war over NOTHING!!! and they say nothing about the things that kids can see in a movie or on TV, they single out and blame Hip Hop for violence, but I have seen Horror Movies with more blood and actual violence than any rap song can describe... get the fuk outta here with that Hip Hop is bad crap... Hip Hop is an art form!!!! i'm an asian that supports hip hop to the fullest!!!! got complaints??? post 'em here or support it with me!!!

Cuz by just looking at it, you know hip hop artists deal with a lot of different areas in their lyrics. pain. what they struggled through in negative ways. how they re-act to certain shit that goes off. politics. violence. letting their emotions out on the mic. so many different things. it just has more in store for the audience than country. you know without even having to understand the music of country and such.

Uuuuuuhhhhh pretty sure every genre has the same amount of songs about struggle, pain, and whatnot...

You think country doesn't have any songs about politics? laugh.gif You are sadly mistaken. I don't really like country either, but there's absolutely no reason to devalue it.

If you're going to preach about being open-minded about hip hop, I suggest you give the same respect to any other type of music.

Lol, you live in NJ, what makes you think you know ANYTHING about the south and country music? You don't think the dixie chick's little notion against bush is important enough to be compared to Hip Hop?

shit all of y'all don't know the problems going on. Its sad that when some will blame music and lyrics for the actions of a few that will listen to it, however, i never hear people protestin and shit on some of the horror movies that come out on screens these days .... any music can be bad ... But the lyrics in hip hop and it's music, it's like a discovery. it creates of culture of people who that dont respect other people, that earning respect mean that you shot someone, or have a nice car, street credibility is only good on the street or in gangs. that's what they do. by trying to earn fame process by process eventually reaching a higher level. it's trying to escape from the bottom pit. hip hop and it's music can be seen differently to people who don't know the REAL FEELING of it, ya feel me .. There are more than just one rapper, more than just 20 rappers, more than just 50 rappers, there are A LOT A LOT A LOT shit that they have struggled with many different kinds of problems and how they re-act to it in a certain way ... Gospel and hymns, they both are a form of religious brainwashing and should be avoided... MEANWHILE, HIP HOP SHOULDNT BE. hip hop is something everyone should discover ... and feel the pain as well, and really get to the point in their minds, that hip hop (RAP) is powerful music.

We all know that I love hiphop. Hiphop is my life. Hiphop is my love.

But at the same time, it don't mean country can't be just as meaningful. Both genres have some real deeeeeep lyrics, and both genres have some artists we all would have rathered not shown up at all.

But anyways. Hiphop is good for your soooul. Speakin of hiphop, who's going to Rock the Bells ? I should make a topic about this.

Um, no? Yeah, we get the point that they have suffered, but the same can be said about the lyrics in almost any other genre.

And 'religious brainwashing?' That's BS. Plus, it's not like some hip-hop songs haven't talked about religion either. mellow.gif

i feel you on what u said, hip hop is not life for everyone cuz people may not like or appreciate the lifestyles of hip hop ... but usually those are ones who think of it on a negative way and manner like gang violence, mugging, and murdering ... in those categories ... positively, hip hop could resemble many good treats like art forms and such ... where would graffiti (dope art) be without hip hop? where would street clothing (ecko red, phat farm, sean john) be without hip hop? where would sneaker collecting (which is very popular nowadays all across the world especially U.S.) be without hip hop? hip hop has created many good things in this world for us that we don't even know of ... we all have to think positive and think that hip hop has given strength and many changes to others. we all gotta learn to appreciate. you feel me?

But most of y'all fellas do. Two words. Hip Hop. What could it mean to a lot of people? First thing they might mention is hmm perhaps, rap music. That'll lead to the people's thoughts of rap music which would be mostly negative (trust me, I know rap is the most hated and controversial music in our country today) and they'll bash the culture of hip hop just from looking at the RAP MUSIC itself. Why? Rap is like hip hop's son. rap came from hip hop. Like I said, if people learn to strongly feel the lyrics in rap music, they'll give a bit of respect to it. But they just can't do it and it's usually the ignorant.
