Every boyfriend I have had except for one has been older than me. Not drastically older, but older. At most, four years or so.

I guess it depends how mature you are and how mature you want your loved one to be. I know I don't like dating someone who is immature and acts younger than they should, but that's just me. Age really doesn't matter unless it is so drastic that there might be something wrong... I don't know. You see old guys dating young girls and vice versa all the time now. I just think that like twelve year olds shouldn't date like.. 20+ year olds. That seems a bit off to me.

For it! There's nothing wrong with it... age doesn't equal maturity.

I am 17, Steven is 19. ^_^

Love =/= age.

Why would anyone be against dating older? My grandparents are 10 years apart!

I don't think it's wrong to date older people. But of course, I dont't think this for all cases. There are exceptions when I think that it's bad to date older people.

I prefer to date the older guys, though.

Age doesn't make a difference as you grow older. I mean, you wouldn't find a 7 yr. old dating a 15 yr. old, but 27 and 33? That's not an issue at all.

Back then, I didn't care about age. So, I used to date guys younger and at the same level with me. It didn't work at all. They were really immature. Since last year, I changed my preferences in dating. I only can date guys older than me but not wayyy older. It definitely works that way. I don't think you dating him is a problem.

I prefer older guys. Guys my age just aren't my thing. I'm 18, my boyfriend's 26 and we've been together for almost a year. We get along great :) It all depends on the two people.

I really don't think age is that important. It's more maturity level.
I've dated people up to 5 years older than me... I have a friend who dated someone 10 years older.
If both people involved are mature enough to handle the relationship, I don't see a problem with it.

Yeah, I agree.

I was 17 and I dated a guy who was 11 years older than me. So hah.

It was obviously illegal, but no one had to know!

I met my boyfriend when I was 17 and he was 21. At the time, it seemed like a big age difference. Now, it's really insignificant. He's 24 and I'm 19.

I think when you're both 18+, it sounds better. But when one's underage, in most cases it is the girl, then it SOUNDS bad, but not necessarily. People, especially parents, make it seem like it's taboo or something. Besides, what happens, happens. You can't control who you have feelings for.

I'm 16, and I've dated a 19 year old. People were shocked by how old he was, but we didn't last very long anyway. I think age doesn't matter if theres really a connection between the two people. Personally I wouldn't date anyone more than 5 years older than me.

DON'T CARE!

my aunt and uncle are over 10 years apart and they're doing just fine.

now, they WERE in their 20's / 30's when they met but a few years difference for teens is fine, IMO as well. :]
