I can't decide between Tamponcracker and Kryogenix.
Hmm... I think I'll go with James (Kryogenix) for MOTM. I absolutely adore that kid. |

Ya no. It's purely who the mods favor more, ergo yourself and Alvin has much better odds. I would like to observe that who the mods 'favour' can be directly affected by not setting out to make them hate you, but ok. And once again, why do people refer to the mods as if we were one entity? There has never (that I can recall) been a unanimous verdict on MOTM. |

Wow, so quick to judge, so quick to judge.
As James said, there has never been a 100% vote, at least not while I've been on staff. I'll let you in on something (which you may or may not care about, I'm leaning towards the latter)- When I vote, I look at who's been helpful. If you look through past winners, you can see a bit of a pattern (for the most part). Most of those who have won have been courteous, helpful, welcome new members, assist people in design forums, provide critiques in design forums or a combination of sorts. I remember voting for Steve (yes, I'll say that I voted for him, sue me). He communicates with people, he has welcomed people, he participates rationally in discussions and somehow can manage to have fun with it. I won't pick out or point out contrasts to that, but that is an example of a not at all design-related vote. |

Haha. If it actually was a popularity contest, wouldn't Kryo James have won last month?...

No because there are a ton of people who don't like him :)
I mean, he invented photoshop then caused global warming. |

Being popular doesn't necessarily mean everyone likes you. You can be 'well-known'. Anyway, I don't want to get into semantics but there you go.
Moving on... :P |

no, that's what it is. if you have no bad vibes and feelings put on you by the mods, then of course you are going to be considered, which is exactly why kryo wasn't.

I think I abstained but I can understand why the majority voted for Cristy and not James. You seem to think as though you can read the staff's mind completely and as though you have everything figured out. Shame you really don't.

Actually (although it wasn't anything serious), Steve and I did disagree on something right about the time the voting took place (the month he won). I still voted for him. A helpful member (I already posted what I look for when I vote) is a helpful member. |

i just think that member of the month should be voted on by peers, personally. THEN, it could be a popularty contest.

It is a 50/50 type deal.
Members vote for Staff Member of the Month, Staff votes for Member of the Month... The other can be a cB Superlatives thing (we haven't done that in a while). |

i didn't win any superlatives this year, but they were all lame anyway.
superlatives around here, on the other hand, are just plain stupid. |
