We need to really toughen up our bashing policy.I mean yea, I know we are personified as Nazis, but it's not fair to have members get pushed away because of people like that.
Some people seem to forget that this site does not operate on their terms. Multiple people start shit just to start shit because they think it livens up the place.IT DOESN'T. IT PUSHES PEOPLE AWAY INTO THINKING WE ARE A BUNCH OF ASSHOLES. When there are truly GOOD people on here, there's again the concern about how we are Nazis, but this accusation has come from a bunch of bitter "has-beens". What I'm thinking is that the simple verbal warning and warning doesn't work. Because you bust them in one topic and tell them "If you bash them lalalallal its a verbal warning" and they stop for 2 hours and then when they hear something they don't like or find foolish they go at it again like 2 teenage lovers. It's bullshit. http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php...view=getnewpost Some of us, including myself have been guilty of in the past, come in to these kind of topics to "mock" or insult someone because they are young and are sexually exploring. I, personally, as much as I find some of the questions silly, have come to realize that they don't deserve this kind of treatment as they have come to a forum to ask for advice and help from people similar in age asking for things they might not be comfortable asking a friend IRL or searching online because they are afraid their parents might check up on them or something. The least we as a community can do is make them feel welcome and try to help them as best as we can. Even if she's 14 and didn't know the reason as to why she let her BF finger her, that's none of our business to belittle her on. It's her body; let her learn the good parts of that and the bad. That's whats it's all about. http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=179744 Some of this wasn't so bad.. but a good majority of this was bickering and arguing and downgrading. As you can see the original poster was having some serious issues. Why should this person have to put up with name calling and stuff like that? And then not to mention there the people who do the "Quote-reply with "LOL UR SO FUNNY". Shit like that adds gas to the fire. At some schools when a fight goes on, the people who fight get in trouble along with the people who watch/instigate the fight. That should be something to consider too. Maybe not a warning but reprimanding or giving a verbal warning might suffice. I know this has been addressed so many times but...this is starting to becomes cB's reputation of spammers, assholes, n00bs and "Nazis". This kind of behavior is something we shouldn't have to tolerate or put up with.. |

... but sometimes the bashing is warranted. I mean, come on. What are you supposed to say when a 14 year old thinks she's pregnant because a guy fingered her?
Like you said, cB has lots of kids on it. You can't possibly expect us to be mature enough to pass up a perfect opportunity to make fun of someone!! |

Not all children know better. I completely agreed that we should be more considerate, not bashing. Bashing is not the answer to a person's error. For me, it's "okay" to bash a bit ... but don’t even drag the red border further. We people as a family should be taking care of each other, understanding, and ask positive questions. In relationship forum, I encountered a person with major problems for providing rude advices. I mean, what the f**k! Someone should be considered to someone's very different, inexperienced, and seeking to be a better person. It flips me out to read this mother f**ker's post that doesn’t know the purpose of "relationship" forum and is posting crap to humiliate others. Jesus Christ.
I know, cB doesn’t have an active professional adviser, but we don’t need it. Just help out! Am i getting off topic? |

^ Agreed.
I believe majority of the people on this site are mature enough to pass it up. You don't need a two-three page topic full of members bashing on one person because she didn't know any better. Just because you happen to know that its a dumb question, doesn't mean they see the same. Come on now you can't tell me when you were younger you didn't ask at least one dumb question in your life. It might not be like the ones we're using as an example, but still. Be mature. Pass it up if you see WAY to many people doing it. There is no way anyone is asking you to stop bashing for good... completely.. forever.(as already mentioned)because it won't happen and no one wants this place to turn into a incredibly goody goody place but bring it down a bit. Bashing may be fun for you, but some people may be serious when they post questions like that. Maybe some members won't be mature and will bash. But some people can actually just answer the question and get on with that. If you want to say something about it later , on your own time outside. GO AHEAD. But at least try to take a more mature approach. By the way.. when a 14yr old girl asks you that question.. the short and sweet reply would be to answer the question. Coming up with a whole sarcastic type reply so that you can sound (to some) superior and (to others) kind of stupid is a waste of time. (In my opinion) Maybe not to you but its not called for in every situation which is kind of the point here. Do it at a minimum is all that some people would actually like to see around here. |

Hi Elba *waves
Shit, so this is off-topic, but the title refers to what I want to say: The mods should f**king loosen up sometimes... especially in the Lounge / chat-ish areas. I have nothing against a single mod at all... but I don't see why Diana should have been punished considering they were basically posts with some sort of topic. Mods should be there to be regular members with powers to close and move threads, not to be our school counselors / principals and control everything we do. And honestly, I think it'd be more fun if the mods didn't have to be so uptight on cB all the time. In CBC where the mods can freely talk and be themselves, it's chaos - sure - but it's still a much more peaceful and less dramatic environment. |

This is the worlds SILLIEST statement i have ever seen. If you really think that you are incapable(and i dont mean this directly to you) to have self control, little one then what is your purpose for being on a forum in the first place if you just are going to be imature and laugh at everyone who deem "stupid". Respect is a right that everyone deserves N00b or not.Member bashing to the extreme of degrading is never ever warranted. Why try to please everyone? You can't. Be lenient imo. If people don't like it, they can leave, but why would they come onto the internet if they're going to get easily offended anyways. I mean, it's the INTERNEETTTTT. If they're that young/naive, then their parents should be intervening, not mods.

*Shrug* If cB became more enjoyable to the majority and less strict, I'm sure people would still come in. Regardless of strict or non strict, people are always kinda jerks to new members, with the ever lasting exceptions. New members opinions aren't ever taken as seriously, from what I've seen. But anyways, maybe older members would come back if they heard that things lightened up big time and that no one was cracking down like they used to. Of course through saying all of this, there are always exceptions to mods (mods being mentioned because they're a minority population).
Anywho.. |

And some think the opposite. Seriously, once all the members give us a reason to not be strict at all, it'll happen. It's needed. Like you said, if you don't like it, you can get over it.
(Not trying to be mean, just applying your own philosophy to yourself. |

It doesn't bug me, I have yet to get in trouble or cause serious mayhem :) Plus, I like arguing and counter-arguments make it all the more fun.
I'm just speaking from what I view as a majority's opinion. I could be grossly misinterpreting, but I believe that more people would be happy from leniency than strictness. I think when it's more lenient, people are more open to speak their mind and have a fun time, instead of worrying about all the rules and being reprimanded. |

I don't think a poll would be in any way effective. The new members (our focus, since members make this site what it is) are too scared to post. Let alone voice their opinion, or even log into a site that hasn't proven to be very user-friendly. Well, I meant it to be experimental. Just for fun. I mean, of course I don't expect creating some poll will end world hunger or something.Anyway, the actual poll is anonymous. i kinda agree People respond to polls. The blogHead vs. createBlog poll went pretty well, I'd say.
i mean for the most part won't the people answering the poll just be the same ones replying in this topic right now? if more people responded, then yea i think a poll would be good |

Well, as Arjuna recommended, I put it in the Lounge so hopefully more people see it. The people in the Lounge aren't necessarily just the ones in here.

I'm not saying that your opinion = closed :)
I've gotten to a point to where on the internet I tend to use a lot of disclaimers because people try to put words in my mouth -.- That response just came naturally. Anyways, I know there won't be a quick-fix (not saying things are broken - see another disclaimer ^^), but the Poll I'm assuming will turn into some sort of place to argue both points, be it strict or lenient, and allow for people to add in what they see as being strict/lenient. |
