yeh i know there's a specific inside joke forum where you try to come up with ones, but this is a bit different rolleyes.gif

does anyone find that inside jokes are extremely alienating? i mean you could be walking with your two best friends and all of a sudden they'd just say PEPPERONI and start laughing like maniacs while you stand there feeling stupid and awkward and start doing the awkward turtle. i mean, i guess that's the point of inside jokes? but it's become more of a "HEY [insert random word here] *laughs hysterically* IM SO AMAZING I HAVE FRIENDS AND WE'RE BFFLS AND WE HAVE INSIDE JOKES" than those real jokes you share with your friends about certain events or something...does anyone get what i'm saying? _unsure.gif and also, it really bugs me when some "acquaintance" of yours who's not even really close to you makes an "inside joke" with you and just starts saying it all the time and putting it in their profiles or myspaces or whatever, and you're just like..what. the. heck?

yeah long rant sweating.gif

inside jokes are d best...the funny goes away when the person being alienated goes "what?" and then you have to explain why saying "Join T-Mobile now and you get a bullet proof vest for free." is funny.

my suggestion is, change topic quick or don't pay attention to it

YES! This girl I don't really know that well was in my phys. ed class.. I didn't really talk to most of the people there, so I mostly hung out with her. She was talking and then she kept on saying 'oh my gahhh' and she started writing "OMGAH! LOL JINNY" in her profile and myspace and i was just like huh.gif because it wasn't really an insider between us. she just made it up herself..

Ya, I know how you feel, about inside jokes :[

My friends don't really have inside jokes anymore. I remember they used to be popular, but nowadays, if my friends do have an "inside joke", they'll usually explain it so that everyone can have in on the fun. ^_^

my friends and i have never really had any...

but this last school year i was staying after school with my bf, 2 friends, and his friend. since my bf had to get his work done (he has a job in the et imc where he cleans the welding room and computer room. but we were hanging out and then he decided that it was time to go get it done so i went with him, and we were alone in the welding room and started making out. lol, then beth, tara, and nathan came it and started laughing at us (well not tara...she was telling me how dissapointed she was in me _dry.gif ) but yeah...so whenever my bf and i are in a public spot we talk about making out and what not as 'cleaning' but anyways, david and i went to nathan's grad party together and i was sittign on david's lap. and nathan was like 'rememeber, theres no cleaning in my house!' david, me, nathan, and beth started laughing..while noah, jason, and jason were like wtf?

yeah, i like them if i'm included in them and know what the hell someone is talking about when they say weird things like that. but if i have no clue what theyre talking about its like WTF? and i dont like that...

I think it's the cutest thing when an acquaintance and I have an inside joke, because it makes us closer. As long as their not being all crazy OMG NOW WE'RE BEST FRIEEEEEENDS then I find inside jokes to be really, really fun most of the time.

i love inside jokes. i feel superior to someone who wants in on the joke, and love seeing them frustrated that they can join in.
