We need to really toughen up our bashing policy.I mean yea, I know we are personified as Nazis, but it's not fair to have members get pushed away because of people like that.

Some people seem to forget that this site does not operate on their terms. Multiple people start shit just to start shit because they think it livens up the place.IT DOESN'T. IT PUSHES PEOPLE AWAY INTO THINKING WE ARE A BUNCH OF ASSHOLES.

When there are truly GOOD people on here, there's again the concern about how we are Nazis, but this accusation has come from a bunch of bitter "has-beens". What I'm thinking is that the simple verbal warning and warning doesn't work. Because you bust them in one topic and tell them "If you bash them lalalallal its a verbal warning" and they stop for 2 hours and then when they hear something they don't like or find foolish they go at it again like 2 teenage lovers. It's bullshit.

Some of us, including myself have been guilty of in the past, come in to these kind of topics to "mock" or insult someone because they are young and are sexually exploring. I, personally, as much as I find some of the questions silly, have come to realize that they don't deserve this kind of treatment as they have come to a forum to ask for advice and help from people similar in age asking for things they might not be comfortable asking a friend IRL or searching online because they are afraid their parents might check up on them or something. The least we as a community can do is make them feel welcome and try to help them as best as we can. Even if she's 14 and didn't know the reason as to why she let her BF finger her, that's none of our business to belittle her on. It's her body; let her learn the good parts of that and the bad. That's whats it's all about.

Some of this wasn't so bad.. but a good majority of this was bickering and arguing and downgrading. As you can see the original poster was having some serious issues. Why should this person have to put up with name calling and stuff like that?

And then not to mention there the people who do the "Quote-reply with "LOL UR SO FUNNY". Shit like that adds gas to the fire. At some schools when a fight goes on, the people who fight get in trouble along with the people who watch/instigate the fight. That should be something to consider too. Maybe not a warning but reprimanding or giving a verbal warning might suffice.

I know this has been addressed so many times but...this is starting to becomes cB's reputation of spammers, assholes, n00bs and "Nazis".

i think part of the problem is the amount of young users we have on here. preteens seem particularly prone to posting incredibly stupid posts or being extremely immature. not that it would be right to ban a certain age group though.

there are certain members that will not be named but they find particular glee in being very abrasive, inconsiderate, and obnoxious. the internet is free rein on behavior. here, they can act with no serious consequences. there is very little that can be done to curb this behavior. i think if a particular member is seriously a big problem, i guess the only solution is to ban him/her.

members like that love to say that others are too sensitive or have no life for getting angry over the internet. but when they are such assholes, there's very little choice.

There are some topics on this site, that are repetitive and somewhat common sense. I don't feel there's a need for people to be mean to those who post topics like that. People should be able to come here in confidence; they shouldn't have to worry about someone being mean to what they post and second guessing themselves.

The thing that gets me, is that the people who post mean things can control themselves. It isn't in real life, so it's not like they "accidentally let something slip". They can read over their posts before they submit their feedback.

Yes, I've posted some sarcastic remarks to topics like that sometimes, and although I usually give them serious feedback about their issue it doesn't substitute for the sarcasm. Everyone always uses the excuse that "it's the internet" and people should take replies with a grain of salt, but not everyone does that and it's something people need to take into consideration before replying with smartass comments.

I have to agree on this. There's more and more member bashing each passing day. A lot of members try to hide it within a number of limited posts. People do need to think before they type. People are just encouraged to fight back if there is someone engaging them. If we eliminate the excitement to comment back; we could end member bashing gradually.

As a response to the older member, they're sick and tired of seeing all these crap. They might as well bash them for it. It's just to overrate to hear typical old things. For a group of Moderators who are perpetually accused of being "Nazi's", we have been extremely lenient on this issue. Point is, it's very clear in the Community Guidelines that personal attacks and member bashing isn't allowed.

Flaming, trolling, member bashing-you name it-will not be tolerated here. If you're making an argument, it's always better to retort with reason and composure. Personal attacks are childish and have no place in these forums.

Diana is wanting to have a conversation about this and wants community input. I think that is fantastic of her to do, but the bottom line is that personal attacks are not allowed here. Period.

Instead of being rigid and dishing out warnings, it would be nice for folks to try to be courteous. That is not the problem at all. I, myself, have made fun of younger users and their so-called "immature" questions, but really thinking about it: the younger groups are the ones that MAKE cB. They are the ones who obsess over their layouts, etc, and come to cB to find a community. Although, yes, their sex-related inquiries are somewhat irritating, and we all wish they would f**king use the search engine sometimes, it's still important that we remember that they are really the majority of cB, and they are what make cB more popular.


It's kind of similar to what Jusun said about "lowering" the standards of layout submissions. It's not that cB is not a respectable place, it's just that websites are usually built off publicity. And the public is not as, um, high-class as some of us.

Anyways, still, I must agree that even when I first joined cB, I thought everyone was a bunch of exclusive assholes. That was years ago. How can we plan to change that first impression of cB?

I try to be polite to almost everyone. Sometimes, it's just humor combined with apathy that I act aggressive / rude on the internet.

Edit: Also, on most of the dumb posts, there are a number of people who respond with actual, helpful advice.
