Tampons are like Jesus compared to pads. Once you get used to them you'll feel stupid for ever being afraid of them.

And like everyone said, your chances for getting TSS are like one in one thousand. As long as you're careful and change regularly, you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

one in a thousand isn't a lot lol,,

but point is recieved, its very unlikely _smile.gif

Well if you read the warning labels there is some sort of disease you can contract from it, like brownsugar said, TSS.

I also heard from another friend if you change your tampon regularly, like before it is really used,, it can hurt to take it out, but thats not a disease mellow.gif

yes. you can get TSS.
and it hurt the very first time you use one.

but after a while they dont.

and yes i does hurt when you take it out before its "used"

there is such thing as TSS= Toxic shock syndrome.. but only if you leave it in there for a long ass time.. or mlonger than reccomended.. other than that you dont have to worry about it getting lost.. but i wouldnt use it at the end of your period cause then you think its done and can accidently forget that you left one in there.. happend to mee... luckly i was okay.. lol the string went up... hahahahaha

I used pads from age 11 until like age 14. I had to stop using them because I started becoming allergic to them. I don't why. I only stuck to one brand and I changed them a lot. Oh well... I'm glad to be rid of those.

I prefer tampons now though. I don't have any issues with those. Besides, tampons are good for threatening people. If there's a guy pestering me in an annoying way, I threaten to yank out my used tampon and whip it at him. You wouldn't believe how well that works. biggrin.gif

Don't you guys watch NipTuck?

Wait, it's rated MA. Nevermind.

But the daughter got TSS from leaving the tampon in for too long.

I only wear them at school & if I'm going out somewhere, other then that - I wear pads. I also wear pads towards the end of the week anyway so I don't have to worry about forgetting the tampon. But I don't think it's that easy to forget a tampon anyway.
