This story was featured on ESPN. It is so depressing and makes you question whether or not our justice system is sensible. Outrage After Teen Gets 10 Years for Oral Sex with Girl ESPN's Coverage They both are pretty lengthy. But I hope most of you can read them and provide your opinions. I think this is an example of how government refuses to admit there is a bad law. Because admitting there is a bad law means admitting the government made a mistake. Like it's never done THAT before. |

Well that is just silly. Seriously, under that aw, you would have to lock up half of my school...
Still, although it's admirable that he stood up for what he thinks is riht by not taking the lesser plea, it wasn't sensible... sad... |

^he didn't want to cop to the plea because then, he's definitely going to be on the sexual offender's list. if he fought, there was a chance he wouldn't. he had a younger sister. he wouldn't be able to see her or anything.

That sucks for him... soooo bad, but I dont think that they'll let him out anytime soon, maybe in a year or two..

Wow..... I'm pretty sure that most teens have had oral sex already. I guess they'll have to lock up like about 90% in my school.

btw, on the ESPN article, the prosecutor was quoted saying that he thinks five years for oral sex was fair. WTF? and also, oral sex is a felony while intercourse is a misdemeanor. and they changed the law that landed wilson in jail but didn't make it retroactive. they changed the law because it was a bad law and everyone hated it but they didn't change it to get wilson out. |

That's just unfair. Even if the law was made with good intentions, it shouldn't ruin someone's life; especially one with a lot of potenial and bright future. They have to got to change the law.

I always hear about this story on American Morning and I have to say I feel bad for the guy, but IMO maybe he should get a more qualified lawyer because this is a highly publicized case so that might help attract higher up lawyers instead of the fat white piece of shit he is using. If they actually had played their cards right they could have set an earlier court date. All it would have taken is one phone call to move things up. |

Since when? I don't remember this being a law... I thought that 18 meant adult... and I thought only having sex could be considered child molestation. If it's consentual, why the hell does it matter to the police? This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. There are a lot of people who ought to be in jail then...
