ok some more things;

-looks like some of the v1 trackers didnt properly get transfered. you should now see your tracker username on the header of your tracker page, and except for myspace users who havent validated their sites, checking the prevent hijacking option should work now.

-highered the daily limit to 500 hits for standard members, and 5000 hits for official members.

Hi I'm sorry for posting this if it's already been discussed, but... what happened to the hidden code? I've had some problems with my bf ex stalking my myspace so this was great to keep track of her without her knowing I was tracking her.

I'm not trying to complain since this is a wonderful free tracker, but was just wondering.

Thanks,
dimi

I don't agree that the icon should have to show, and overall I don't like the new version. I'm going to get rid of it, I'd rather not track at all. I loved v1, I really wish things could've just stayed the way they were. It was great while it lasted.

i mentioned this earlier,

im not going to provide the code for a hidden tracker anymore. the tracker button is there to help spread the word about createblog. its only fair to give back by promoting createblog in return for all the resources we provide.

its unfortunate you dont like v2. in all fairness, v2 has ALL the features of v1 plus many more. i guess in the end you cant make everyone happy.

No problem. After all, like you said it is free and you have every right to do it the way you want!! :) And the rest of us just have to deal with it

aww saying having to deal with it makes it sound bad. i may provide the code to hide the tracker for official members sometime in the future. itll give everyone an extra incentive to be more active in our community. =)

ok...so for those of us that had V1 tracker and had hidden code what do we do??? I get it that it cant be hidden, so I try to get new code for the NON hidden code but IT IS ALREADY BEING TRACKED!!!!! How do I get new code?????? How do I cancel the old code????? There is no spot to manage these things. There really needs to be a page deal with the pages being tracked, ie... untrack this page.

The tracker seems to be working quite well for me, and i'm even content with small image too, the question i have is when you incorrectly identify a ip, how do you get the image to return to the ?/anon image?

i don't know if this has been mentioned in here yet, but i can get the code for the tracker fine...but it hasn't tracked anything, yet my page views count on myspace keeps going up. any idea what this means?

another question...with the image linking back to createblog, can we switch the icon ourselves to one that just says createblog? that way CB would still get "out there" but people wouldn't be like "OMG, they have a tracker!"

idk...

ok, i dont know if this has been adressed, but i had the old tracker, deleted it, and am trying to install the new one, when i plug in my information it says it is already being tracked. But when i go to the tracker page the pulldown on the right doesnt have it listed, just a link to track another site. What am i doin wrong or am not seeing?

What I have noticed is that if you have a private profile, your myspace count will rise, you will not get any ip's, only those in your friends list will be tracked. also..myspace implemented that new option to "comment, message or block user" if they use that option you will not get an ip because it completely bypasses your profile but you get a comment or message...consider that.

hi, this has been mentioned numurous times already. that means you have another createblog account that you used to add that site to the tracker. if you cant remember your original account, pm me the url you wish to track and i can manually reset it.

hi, this option is disabled to prevent abuse. if this option was enabled, people will simply come here to remove their identification from their ip...

clicking that link to verify that your site actually exists and save some date on our db for you to use the 'prevent hijacking' option in settings.

can you pleassssssssssssse make the cB profile an option for tracking so i can see people's usernames, instead of their ip because it's quite annoying tracking something if you can't actually see who is looking at your page.

yes, it is... the person above this in my post mentioned that too...i haven't gotten any comments in the past couple of days, but didn't think about the fact that it could just be like outside profile visits, haha.

as for the other buttons, sounds cool thumbsup.gif

Thanx for answering previous question but i'm still unsure of the answer..If we incorrectly identify an ip that showed up,(by using the re-identify feature) this puts the wrong person with that ip, but that person has nothing to do with cb, there is no default way to revert the ip back to anon? I dont see how this would prevent abuse but actually increase abuse because you can assign anyones profile with an ip...?

you can always re-identify an ip if the identification is incorrect. theres really no need for the un-indentify option, since it will most likely be used mainly for users who wish to remain anonymous by the tracker (ie, unidentifying their own ip when someone else identifies them).

Well even invision power board will let you see your latest visitors. I believe that's what are profiles and forums are run off of. whistling.gif

nope, just the forums. the profiles and everything else is proprietary. cb4 is going to be the last version where we use ipb, on our next iteration, im going to write my own. =)

yea ipb's profile system has been disabled. the tracker will never be built into the profiles. i do however have plans on making the profile/blog/photos system more robust in the future.

I don't like that the fact that if someone identify's your IP everyone can see who that IP address belongs to.

There should be an option to allow persons to identify your IP or an option for you to remain anonymous or if they do identify your IP it should only be visible to that user not the entire CB community who is using the tracker.
