so my tracker had not been working, i removed tracker, reinstalled and it STILL does not recognize visits to my page. am i missing something here or is this just getting a little ridiculous? if anyone wants to help me out as to WHY this wont work, PLEASE do. thanks!

why is my tracker working so well?

I get different ips.
i identified them.
I use myspace.
and it's working well.
maybe, i was using the 1st tracker code w/ no icon showing.

Whenever i click on the link that says get code, it takes me to a blank page. Is there any other way i can get the code?

my tracker worked fine when i placed the code on my blog, but quite frankly i really dont care to see the statistics of who reads my blog, because i rarely ever write anything in it. something in my myspace profile is obviously preventing the tracker from working. i unchecked the hijacking thing blah blah blah still doesnt work.

The tracker works for a while each day, but then suddenly just stops updating stats. Then when it's the next day, it starts recording statistics again, but freezes again after a while ..

wthell. something's wrong with my tracker again. it didnt track my commenter. i could tell base on the time they comment and the ip address's time. they dont match. O_O

I have removed the myspace tracker from my site as well as indicated it's removal on createblog..however, I tried to reinstate the tracker but it says that my myspace site is already being tracked. How do I get this to work again? I feel like an idiot.

i can definitely tell that now that you mention it. the tracker had not worked all day, then tracked one hit, and now is inactive again. the tracker should just say no to drugs and our lives would be a lot easier.

hi all, a couple of things:

-the tracker button must be visible for the tracker to work. im no longer going to provide the code to hide the button, sorry, this is so that more people will be aware of our tracker... and its only fair to those visiting your site to know that they are being tracked.

-for those who are getting 'your site is already being tracked' error when trying to add a new tracker, thats because the site is already being tracked. you most likely signed up for the tracker using another createblog account. if youre having problems remembering your original createblog account, send me a pm with the url you wish to track.

-the max hits it records per day is 1500 hits per site for official members, and 150 hits for regular members. this upper limit is present to prevent one site from hogging too much system resources...

-xanga tracker has been fixed; you should be able to sign up for new xanga trackers now.

-if the time is incorrect, simply go to edit settings and change the timezone to the correct timezone. also, make sure your myspace (or whatever site) timezone is also correct.

-if your using a non standard myspace url format (for all previous signups), you need to uncheck 'prevent hi-jacking' for the tracker to work.

-for certain browsers (firefox), the tracker will only log once per browser session, unless the user clicks on refresh manually or closes the browser and accesses your page again.


the tracker basically works. just check the demo and click on 'go to site' and youll see that your ip has been logged. the reason it isnt working for you is most likely because youre doing something wrong...

I was wondering what was up because my tracker stopped tracking around 8 PM tonight but I've still been getting messages and my hit count on my MySpace page has gone up since then. I never deleted the old code so I was happily surprised when I checked back on Friday and saw the tracker was working again. I changed my default picture yesterday and have had an insane amount of hits since then... and when I checked here just before 8 PM, it was at 148. Then it just stopped and I thought, "Crap! Here we go again!" Nice to know it was just me reaching the CB limit for the day! Thank you so much, Micron, for posting this information otherwise I might have found myself in a little bit of a tizzy over it.

i highered the limit to 200 per day for regular members and 2000 per day for official members. the reason why the daily limit is so low for regular users is to give them an incentive to be more active here in the community.

Hey Jusun, is there a way we can block IP addresses like ourselves and certain people?

I don’t like seeing myself covering up the whole tracking page. It’s less easy for me to see varieties of ip addresses.

right now you can only disable logging your ip (go to edit settings and eheck 'do not track my ip'). this only works if you have a dedicated ip (cable). in the future i might add a new field where you can input more than one ip to ignore.
