I think the very earliest you should get married is around 22. Ideally between 22 and 30.

12? whoa man....that's crazy. waaaaaaaaaaaay too young if you ask me.
![]() i think it really depends on the person. most of the time that people get married during high school around here is because of pregnancy. even if they're really mature, i think they at least need to wait until they're 18, preferably until they get of college. one of my friends is getting married on Saturday though...she's 18, he's 20...idk... 20s would be ideal. i'd like to be like between 23-25 when i get married. |

16? I think thats a bit young. I think anytime in your 20's to 30's....it really depends on the people and where they are in life.

I notice that some are saying that they think 16 would be okay. But honestly, what 16 year old do you know can actually handle a marriage.
THEY ARE LIVING WITH HER GRANDPARENTS. Her grandparents/parents are supporting them. That is not marriage. He does what he wants (whatever that may be ![]() They have no clue what marriage even is. I'm 20 years old.. and I don't think many 20 year old can handle a marriage and it be successful! |

Whenever you've completed your education and are financially independent from your parents... and of course when you've been with a guy long enough. I would have to be with a guy for at least a year before I'd even consider marriage. For me, I think a good age would be 22 - 24.
What the heck do people who are under 21 do about alcohol on their honeymoon? Hahah that'd be sad to be married and too young to order a drink. ![]() |

i think a reasonable age is early twenties.
i, myself, just got married 3 weeks ago and i'm almost, but not yet 18. and he's 20. Justin, my husband, is in the marines and got stationed in iwakuni, Japan. if we wern't married we would have had to pull loooots of teeth for me to even go visit. but now that we're married i just have to wait 6 months, then i can join him, and live there to. we've been best friends for 5 years, dated for 2, and were engaged for one. i live in my parents house...but only because i'm not going to be here long enough to sign a contract to get an apartment. and i pay them rent, buy my own gas, my own food, etc. and do everything myself. i'm not dependent on them at all really. its just nice seeing them since i wont for 3 years. |

i know ppl who got married way before 16. like 14, and have like 2 kids by the age 18. ![]() its common in asian cultures to get married/engaged, at a very young age. |

If you can't drink alcohol at you're own wedding... you're too young to be getting married ![]() |

I understand a lot of people are saying that age does not matter but experience,,
but what about school, and the possibility of children? Going to school and having a child or two isn't that easy, at all. And from what I understand, a lot of jobs now that pay decently you have to have some sort of college degree, unlike ten years ago,, so after college is probably the best. There is just way too many responsibillities they'd have in such a young relationship. |

^ Truth. After college, and hopefully after we already have a stable place to live off our stable jobs that we already have.

^ Yeah,,, there are a lot of variables that can take place,
You can take college classes while in highschool so you can graduate 2 years earlier than anyone else and hopefully sustain a good stable job Of course, you could go to college, take good classes, graduate, and have no way to apply anyone of the information you accumulated and ultimately get a horrible job. But if your lucky, or even blessed, you might find a good job at such a young age,,, someone mentioned earlier that their spouse was in the marines.. i think ![]() |

I don't plan on ever getting married; I don't need an overpriced piece of metal to say that I'm committed to somebody. But that's just me. *shrugs*
But if you're into the idea, I agree with those who previously mentioned that a reasonable age to get married is whenever you're able to support yourself. Unless you're completely self-sufficient, marriage isn't a good idea. If my feelings toward it ever changed, I wouldn't even consider getting married before the age of 28--at least. There's just too much I want to do with my life before starting a family. |

Dear Lord my mother would shoot me if I did that. She always says that before I get married I should finish college, have a job, a stable lifestyle, and some money in the bank. Personally I think early 20's is too you. Probably mid to late 20's.
