Post a picture of your favorite drawing, painting, etc. It can be modern, ancient, Di Vinci, or even something a friend drew. Feel free to discuss why you like it and what about it stands out to you.

My favorite piece of art right now is this:

I'm a huge Zelda fan, and this drawing captures the essence of the love that always pulls Link and Zelda through.

Yeah, I know... I'm a dork. laugh.gif

Discuss!

Oil on canvas

James Rosenquist

His artwork is so talented. They're all very realistic, and it's hard to believe that it is a painting!

It's by David Choe.
I saw it at Giant Robot in LA and can't take my eyes off of it.

The Winged Victory, in the Louvre of Paris. I really want to go see it in person.

Wahahah I saw that in person. biggrin.gif You'd love the Louvre. It's amazing. I saw the Mona Lisa there as well.

This is my current favorite piece of art:

It's a photograph by Tobias Zeising.

Either the Statue of David, or Michaelangelo's ceiling paintings in the Vatican City (St. Peter's Basillica I think).

I love Ron Mueck's work. He is fantastic...his life-like works are to die for. I'm sure alot of you(young or younger)will love him after this.

^ I've seen his stuff before, and it gives me the creeps--but all the same, the detail is absolutely fascinating.

Anyway, like Peanups, I'm going to have to go with Van Gogh's Starry Night. I've just always had a soft spot for it.

It's of Ville Valo by nell-fallcard on deviantart, I've loved it since I saw it.
