okay, before school starts up again in september, i want to get extensions. but just in case i want to do some research on them. i am looking at other websites too but i want to know your information too.
well, how long do they usually stay in? i heard about a month. does it hurt? i heard it does. where is a good place to get hair that isnt that expensive? i was thinking sallys? but then again, i dont know if that would look too fake. and i looked on jessica simpsons site and the human hair (which i think would be alot better) is 200$ for 14 inches. and 18 inches is 240$ any info on hair extensions would be great, thanks ![]() |

dang..thats expensive. i know a friend wo told me she bought the fake hair at a salon, then glued them to her hair. if they glue it, it wont hair, but if they weave it in, then i heard it does. hurt. a lot.
she told me since they didnt do anything for her, it only cost $20. and they stayed in for a month. |

I've researched hair extensions a bit because I plan on doing it myself.
They stay in for up to 3 months the most. It depends on how well they do it and how well you take care of them. They will hurt only if the person doing them is bad at it and the type of extensions you get. You can get them glued in, which will rip out your real hair when you take them out. The glue is also very hot, which is probably why they hurt. I'd recommend micro fiber link extensions (I believe that is what they're called). If you want hair extensions, spend your f**king money. Seriously. Get HUMAN hair. $150+ is regular for good, long hair. If you get cheap hair, it gets disgusting after you wash it a few times, and you cannot straighten / curl / dye the extensions. Expect to spend over $250 total if you want natural, gorgeous extensions. Or do them yourselves and save about $80. |

You need to call the salon and talk to their hair extension specialist about that. The specialist will usually prefer a certain type of hair or a brand. And you should talk to them about what you want to do. They will be able to tell you what kind of hair you need exactly, like length / color / texture -wise. :) Good luck!

I've had extensions recently. But I dunno how your hair is. My cousin did it for me for $30. Last year she braided my roots in rows and sewed the extensions in. That stayed in for about 3 months. This year, she used glue and it only stayed in for about 2 months or so. I used about 1.5 packs. Then again; I dunno how your hair is.

For my senior prom I got hair extensions. They looked really really good. But they didn't stay in very long. Maybe 2 1/2 weeks. I wish I still had them because they looked fantastic :)
I think you should go for it! |

When getting extensions, ask for a stylist with at least 3 years experience doing hair extensions. If you get extensions, wash your hair every three days and use a dry shampoo at your roots in between washing to absorb excess oil.

^ I agree with the above.
Also, yeah, I personally think it would be better to get the more expensive ones, just because they tend to last longer. |

they usually last up to two months, depending. i' go all out and pay the extra money for human hair and a good stylist. with human hair, you can dye, straighten, curl, ect. and with fake hair you can't. i'd be like if you tried to dye your barbie doll's hair or something. make sure you trim and blend them well. otherwise, bep will get you. haha.
