I agree with everything you said. I think you can do better than this Anthony. You should definitely start over and add more to it.

add some more designs to the banner? or maybe fancy up the headers? IMO, the red is extremely bright and hurts my eyes. Try a bit of a darker shade. I think you can do better too. :]

Hmm.... It looks slightly different. Just changed the link colors, and title bars.

- I think you should make the navigation/sub-section width a lil bigger. It looks a lil too small for the sub-section and unbalanced.
- I still hate those links but I guess you like them.
- The title bars looks a lil odd, Its too big for such a small font size.
- Umm, change the background? It doesn't match. I see like white lines going across the gray background and it seems a little odd because it didn't go with the main image. No continuation.

Safari - The layout doesn't work.
Firefox - Yay I can see it. The red is bright for some not to me personally. I would suggest making it black then you can add som red in the header etc. Earlier in the thread people said you found the header. If so you need to credit them instead of writing your name on it. Its actually not that bad so I don't see what all the fuss is about. Obviously the theme is skating you can fit that in somewhere. Maybe red text if you change the red background and put it torwards the bottom of the image. As I said if you didn't make it your credit needs to be off. Just code it into one of the sidebars. You also need to add the creators name either on top or coded on the side with yours. The link style isn't that bad. I personally think only navigation links look ok like that. The rest should and could be normal.

You also could of lost the content boxes and just coded tables that might of looked better.

I'm sure everyone is trying to be sincere while still giving constructive criticism. I believe it looks "Beginner", a little too "Beginner" at that. Everyone has been through a phase where unbalanced content sections and bad quality headers were all the rage. Honestly, I think you should take Alvin's advice and start from scratch. It really looks messy and unprofessional to me, although you stated earlier that it was a "quick make". Plan ahead, trail and error coding, and mess around in photoshop - those are definite pluses to help on improving quality and overall design. A little thinking never hurt.

I agree. I don't think it's too bad, especially considering it's done in paint. Looking at your source, you could try imbedding the image as the background for the div, setting the width and height to be the same as the image. Also, your font is appearing as default and black. The loading time is also slow, especially for the image. Try reducing the file size. Jpeg seriously isn't the end of the world. Or even just a lesser quality Png. And tables aren't all that bad. Frankly, I think it'd be fine if you cannot get the above method to work. An attribute you can add to either tables or divs is Z-index:#value here. The higher the numerical value is used on the table/div that you want to be on the front. For example, you'd have Z-index:1 for the div/table with your image, and Z-index:2 for your content.

edit: Since you're using 2 sep. divs for your text/content areas, some of the above advice doesn't really apply. You can, however, make the red and black parts of the background an image and play with it in photoshop/paint.

Well, the layout is ok. Try doing a blend of a singer/artist, instead of a brushes.
