That's cool! But I really don't like the splash page... not that it's badly designed... but hey, I just don't like splash pages in general.
ANYWAY. I like the blue shaded design and the contrast between the lighter and darker shades. Very well done. |

I don't like the design very much. It's too plain and looks like it mostly consists of brushes. Honestly, I think it screams out, "Hi I'm a noob that can't design." What I'm saying is spend more time on the design. The idea coding is fine, but the design is a major turn off.

Eeek. I'm going to critique it.
On the splash page, eh, i'm, personally, not too fond of them, but I think that if you would just..idk..blend it better against that really dark background it'll look fine. About contrasting, in FF, on your actual webpage dealo, there is a white background. Is it supposed to be like that? I see the striped background that goes around the blog/content columns, but, then there's white. And it's just, like, whoa hi major contrast, how you doing. I say change the white to a blue..and you've got a pretty decent site.

First of all, what the hell's a splash page?
Second, I don't really like the white background...at all. And the design is alright... The coding is good though, so good job on that. As a whole, it's good. Not great, nothing special, but it's good. |

alright thanks guys
 i made the design very simple on purpose... I've been planning this site for months and have had numerous ones. I found this one to be more "me" but as far as the suggestions i will def. try them out. Any more is welcomed

Very nice colors, and sleek design. You should make the striped background repeat, because it's just white and plain at the moment. I think you should move on from two columned layouts and to something more broad and complex.

I think IF your going to have a splash page..
just centering the image would make it so much better. I also think the alignment is a little messed up on the actually website. Maybe it was suposed to be centered but in FireFox its off. |

i have no problem with simplicity, but your design problem isn't that it's too simple; it's the fact that you used basically the same image for everything. slight repetitiveness is all right, but when you're using the same image for the buttons and banners, it's basically screaming either "i'm lazy" or "i'm not creative enough to mix diff ideas".
i rarely critique people 'cause i usually think that's all they can do, so my words are wasted on them. the fact that i bothered to comment on your thread is 'cause i honestly expected more out of you. |

first of all, i love blue so i lov ethe color(s)
don't like the splash screen but that just a personal preference the navigation, pop-up things when you hover is NEAT-O!  & like the headers (navigation, elite sites, etc.)
