I went dress shopping with my mom and two best friends and I found a dress at Anthropologie that I really loved. It was cute and quirky and looked really good on me. But, unfortunately, my friends and mother decided to gang up against me and told me that it was ugly.

Yes, I know it has DEER on it. But I think it's cute regardless. I would have gotten it if my mother didn't have the final say.

So what do you guys think about it?

It's quite cute, but not something I would personally wear, but I wouldn't call it ugly thats for sure.

Anthropologie has the cutest stuff; this is no exception! Okay, so deer and another animal prints are generally off-limits for me, but this one is subtle and tasteful. I think it's an adorable dress!

Out of curiosity, was there any special reason you were dress shopping? Like, a special event or something?

I hate the trim on the bottom. Without it the dress would be really cute. And I like deer laugh.gif

Christ! You could buy that flimsy fabric and make a dress like that yourself at walmart! What makes it 200 bucks? Seriously! Join a sewing class.

And yeah, I would never have looked it's way. Too pale and startchy looking.

It's not ugly but it's not that cute. I think the deer print is just a turn-off for me but the style itself, despite the deer, is adorable.

^ Agreed.

It looks like any other dress you can pick up from some place like Forever21.

Its really cute, but the blue ends of the dress kinda ruin it..but if it looks good on you..then you should get it!

I think it's cute!
Not exactly worth $248, but it's adorable nevertheless. _smile.gif
If you like it, go ahead and buy it! Your mom's not going to be the one wearing it, so you might as well just pick something YOU like. shrug.gif

Are you actually wearing it to a wedding? It's definitely not appropriate for a wedding, imo.

It is super cute though. I would definitely wear it. It's really unique.

Your mum and friends probably just have a really traditional and boring taste in clothes.

Well, about the topic of price...depends if you're willing to make that investment. Is it a dress that you'll wear multiple times? Or a one-event thing? Easy way to figure out if the buy is worth it: estimate how many times you'd wear it in, say, a 5 year span. Think about it, if you wear it twice a year for five years, you wear it 10 times, so each time you'd be spending $24.80. Not bad.

Oh, personally I'd choose a different dress for a wedding (I'd really just stay away from anything close to white for a dress to someone else's wedding - deer prints and blue trim or not). Although it's still a very cute dress.

I think it's kind of cute... The pattern's strange, but it's small enough to be wearable. You should get it if you really like it _smile.gif

I think that was their biggest bone of contention with it. Though it does look more formal on, and I could make it even more appropriate with proper shoes and accessories, deer aren't exactly the pattern I would have worn to a wedding.

So we went to BCBG Max Azria and picked up a dress there instead. But I still have a place for that dress in my heart. <3 If I had that kind of money, I'd buy it myself. But unfortunately, I don't.

Wait I didn't see the wedding part. DO NOT WEAR WHITE TO A WEDDING! Even if there is some pattern on it, the dress is mostly white.

oh forget it, its got so much pattern on it it doesn't qualify as "white". Don't wear white shoes, you'll be just fine!
