My dad just got a call from one of his employees at the hospital he works at, and there was a woman who had arrived not too long ago from a nearby neighborhood. She was walking her dog this morning and was attacked by a pit bull. The dog had literally ripped her face and scalp off, and paramedics brought the leftover skin to the hospital in a cooler. A neighbor saw the attack and tried to help, and the dog ripped the muscles out of his arm. Another witness finally came out and shot the dog with his 40 caliber pistol.
News crews are all over the hospital, but I can't find an article online about this story yet. I'll post it if I come across one a little later. |

Unfortunately there isn't an easy way to regulate dogs without making absolute decisions. Some people just neglect/abuse dogs and let them run wild, and those dogs do the things aforementioned in the original post. Then others are very nice to their dogs and expose them to people and they're the nicest dogs you'll meet.

Trinh was taken to North Fulton Regional Hospital for surgery. She is listed in serious condition. Neighbors tried to stop the attack. They used sticks and a shovel to get the dog away from the woman. The dog bit Spencer Alexander on the arm. The dog then went after Marc Delsanto. He pulled a gun and killed the animal with one shot to the head. Police issued several citations to Glenda Newell, the owner of the dog. That's not exactly the entire story, but still. |

Yeah, and while I was in FL this past week on vacation, there was a story on how a local woman had just been killed by one. Unfortunate, but seriously.t should be illegal to have those dogs as family pets. It's their instinct to kill, no matter how hard you try to change it. It's just their nature.

i know an extremely nice pitbull, too. it's as sweet as my pug ;o. people just gotta learn how to f**king train their dogs if they decide to have one. and why the hell did they leave the pitbull with a 12 year old who wouldn't be able to control it if it ran away? wtf ekjrhwkjerhsdf >;[

I hate how they make it seem as though Pitbulls are killers but, if they knew their dog was violent, why would you allow your 12 year old child to walk it on her own? That's terrible. I don't know what would've encouraged the dog to rip off the woman's face.

no dog outright wants to harm a human. it is most dogs nature to be aggressive and a lot of people treat the dogs badly. pitbulls are fiercely loyal to their owners and provided utmost protection for its family. pitbulls are naturally agressive but to other animals and dogs. if the agressiveness is properly tamed and monitored, a pitbull actually is a great pet. they love attention and are extremely playful. they were first breed for fighting and it is irresponsible owners that allow the aggressiveness to continue. if pitbulls were trained properly during their youth, there should be no dangerous agressiveness in them. any dog, no matter what breed, shows early signs of aggression that should be warnings. very few dogs suddenly snap and attack. the owners should have spotted the signs and taken the proper precautions. http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/americanpitbull.htm |

Man I feel bad for that woman.. But also for the dog because I'm guessing the bites from the dog, if it's put in the news it'll give people bad impressions on having bull dogs for dogs and they'll be a lot more of those in the pound/animal shelter.
