Toya is amazing. She cleared up much of the queue yesterday and is very much deserving of recognition. thumbsup.gif

However, they are doing a good job on accepting/rejecting layouts. _smile.gif
I do have to agree I like what I see now, some more of the simpler, minimal designs. Even some of my previously accepted-then-rejected layouts came back.

The mod team is horrible and there is no accountability.

what's new?

like i said before, if you make being a moderator a sort of exclusive club, you're going to attract the wrong sorts of people.

In my opinion, all official members should be able to become moderators. maybe 1000 posts, 10 ppd, whatever. yea, have requirements. Demod anyone who goes apeshit with the power, and then you wouldn't have these problems.

of course, then you'd have the problems of admin becoming an exclusive club...

so of course, maybe there could be some sort of checks and balances. That would be interesting.

Hence the reason for this thread. Except for some reason, no one could grasp this concept.

^ Once again, James, not agreeing with you does not equate to not grasping a concept.

Hey James, why wasn't any of this an issue when you were on staff with the same people that are on staff now?

Gee, I dunno. How about the staff being uptight assholes over trivial things? How about the staff exacerbating problems by being overly aggressive?

Kind of what like I've been complaining about for a while now?

Oh. _smile.gif I don't know if you picked it up...but that was in response to Sammi's question referring to what you said while you were on staff. Do you have anything you want to add about that?

If you are insinuating that any of that was brought up, we can just end the conversation right here. I don't another long debate about something that never happened.

Well, it's not hard to believe you're denying it happened back then if you're completely ignoring my complaints now.

Sorry for jumping in on this, but I honestly don't remember any of this when you were on staff either.

i don't remember much conflict from james back then.

he came in, did his job, didn't go apeshit with power, and quite frankly did a pretty good job.

The staff was very different back when you were still there. I believe ersatz was referring to my recent rehiring.

you had a recent rehiring, eh?

quite intersting.

anyways; i was reading the cB revolution thread the other day. it's quite intersting. Entertaining, really.

I doubt a similar thread would fly today. Members don't care, and even if they did moderators probably wouldn't let it go on for as long as it did.

ahh, the good old days...

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that if what james says about mods ratcheting down on control of the forum is true, it's because they're bored. I mean, you finally make it to mod and there's nothing for you to moderate.

Well, remember when James called the Staff Meeting? There was the memo and all and I remember being called "a f*cking bitch" on more than one occasion (although it was I who tarnished his perfect record, an absolutely unforgiveable act on my part). XD

sadolakced acid (I apologize, I don't know your name) - I'm not sure how long you've been back, but things are really relaxed right now, especially in The Lounge.

I can understand some of this pre-CB4, but right now it seems like the majority of staff is really lenient and understanding. Heck, I just returned from The Lounge and not even two months ago many of the still open threads would have been closed.

I think it's important to give feedback, but it's also nice to acknowledge improvement as well.

In any case, carry on. =)

Urhm, actually guys, James DID bring this up while he was on staff, it just that no one was exactly sure how serious he was at the time.

And I'm sorry, but honestly, no one IS racheting down in terms of closing/moving/deleting topics... Justin, I actually think things have got better since the Revolution.

There are no problems. We are doing a great job. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

QUOTE
In the topic that was referred to, he mentioned something about "lightening up". But who hasn't? I'm sure if he was 10% as vocal and serious as he is about "it" now, it would've made more sense.

First of all, me being vocal about it is irrelevant. It doesn't matter if I was vocal about it then or now. What matters is you guys did a shitty job, and you deserve to get shit for it. You guys seem to think it's my complaints that are the problem here when it is the staff's shoddy work that is the problem.

Second of all, I WAS vocal about it back then. Perhaps not as much as I am now, but back then I was giving you guys the benefit of the doubt. Now I know I can't trust you guys as far as I can throw you.

To bring this back on topic (thanks again for providing a smokescreen ersatz), you guys need to be held accountable for your actions, and I'd like to see stuff get done.

I wasn't trying to "provide a smokescreen", I was seriously honestly curious as to why I hadn't heard such vehement backlash from you before in all the time we were on staff together.
