i've never used psp. but i assume that you would get a picture with the brushes that you want, and then cutout the brush that tyou want, make it a transparent background and make a brush out of it.

You change the extension from .abr to .jbr ? Well at least that was for the older versions.
Read this for extra help. One thing though there is a possibility that its not going to work.

It's not paint shop pro, but photopaint = better and in Corel, so it may help.
