Have any of you ever been to a fast food restaurant and the cashier acted like they had a bad attitude or they just acted plain rude towards you? I remember when I was at Mc Donalds and the lady nearly threw my change at me because the coins were rolling around on the floor and everywhere. Then I said "You didn't have to chunk it at me." And she just rolled her eyes. So have any of you had this to happen to you before?

Oh my gosh. I know what you're talking about. Geez, maaan. I went to McDonald's one day, and I was asking this cashier lady if this coupon was still good because I couldn't find the expiration date. And she just ignored me and this unwelcoming face. And then when I ordered without my coupon, she was so slow in change and threw the change at me. Even if she was havin a bad day or a bad life, she doesn't need to be that inconsiderate.

LOL I'M KINDA LIEK THIS, but I don't mean to, I usually just slide the change on the counter because when I put it in peoples hands, and they close it, they almost hold my hand which is uncomfortable, and then they think I'm rude for doing that, wtf. I HATE MCDONALDS, NEVER WORK THERE. And I don't smile, cuz I don't smile.

Lol.
This happpend to me before.
But it was at the drive Ok.
1st they were taking all day and then when they gave us the order It was wrong.
So my mom asked them to fix it and she was Ok and literally snached the bag out of my moms hands.
My mom kept cool.
Then when she gave the bag back there was no ketchup so my mom said my I have some ketchup and then she basically threw the ketchup.
She was so rude and ghetto.

I think most people who work in fast food are unnecessarily rude.

The other day we waited FOREVER at an Arby's and after waiting so long we drove off without my bf's bank card, by accident. We called there a couple of hours later, and the manager told us they had it, and we called back in a few minutes and someone else answered and said they didn't have it. Turns out they did have it and someone charged it for $20 a couple of times. Assholes mad.gif

I've never had any bad cashier experiences, but my dad is really rude when he goes to any fast food place that has a black person as the cashier. He's reeeeally racist, and he basically yells at them and is really rude. I hate it when he does that. I'm a cashier at work, so I always try to be as considerate as possible if somebody like that comes into the store. If I can't handle them, I'll get my co-worker to deal with them.

I think that at any type of restaurant the people who are working there play a vital roll; right next to how the food tastes. For some reason, I can sympathize, to a point, with people working in fast food. There's been times when my family and I have gone into a nice restaurant on a whim and the people working there were rude and we never went back.

AH! Yes, stuff like that happens all of the time. Rarely do I feel bad for them. Sometimes I'm like "Wow, that must suck they stand there all day and have to deal with stupid people." But at the same time i'm "I shouldn't feel bad, it [i]is[i] their job, some people have worse jobs than this." I definitely don't feel bad for one the ones that are rude. I only feel bad for the ones that are actually nice and get treated poorly. The ones that just stand there without saying anything and then look at you like you're stupid when you don't start ordering, or the ones that that just take your money and hand you change with out talking, or just hand you your food, those are the ones i can't stand. They are supposed to ask if they can help you and welcome you all that good stuff. At least say have a nice day, that is part of their responsibility. These aren't really cashiers, but the other day when i was at American Eagle at this less popular mall in my city, no one was there except for like 6 workers standing there half way between the entrance and the counter. When we walked in NONE of them greeted us, smiled, or anything. So i just went into the store looked at stuff and complained loudly about how the staff sucked and how I wont be going back to that location. Haha, I don't know if this is normal at everyone elses american eagle, but at the other malls here in Columbus, Ohio pretty much every store like that has an appearing to be happy-go-lucky staff who are excited to help customers. OH! And just yesterday I went to Home Depot to get some stuff for this project for my room and i was looking for the stuff that i couldn't find. So i thought i would do what anyone would do and ask an employee to help me becase their aprons say "Ask me for help". The guy i asked didn't even say anything! He stood there and looked at me for two minutes after i stopped talking. At first i didn't even think he was going to stop after i kept saying "Excuse me sir," he continued to glance at me and sorta go on walking, it was funny but odd. Finally when he started to address my question he said "Why would you be in lumber if you're looking for a pole and brackets?" It was so rude, like he wasn't joking or anything, he seemed like he was pissed that i was obviously so retarded in his opinion. I just looked at him and showed him my the piece of wood I had in my hand and asked "Why do you have this job if you don't like people?" Ah rude employees! I promise i won't be rude to my customers at Dairy Queen!

QUOTE(brownsugar @ Jun 2 2007, 06:13 PM) *
I think customers are more rude than cashiers. I don't work at a fast food restaurant, but at my old job I had to deal with a lot of rude ass customers. I mean cashiers have to stand all day with rude ass people that come in and just want to get their shit and leave (especially at fast food restaurants).

I suppose there are some rude cashiers out there, but I sympathize with them.

I completely agree with you. For me, I've definitely seen more rude customers than cashiers. I've been a cashier at a fast-food type place (Tim Horton's) and trust me...you can only handle it for so long.

^Yeah Steph, some customers well most customers are mean that's why I don't want to work at a fast food restaurant because I might snap if someone gets an attitude with me. But I've learned to control my attitude.

So what do cashiers gain by being super nice? Tip? A pat on the back? An extra fatty burger that might end their life faster?

Most of the time, it's the damn customers who are rude. I was only rude if someone was being rude to me. Also, as a customer, if a cashier is being rude to me for no reason, that's just not necessary. I am always nice when I go to a fast food place because I know the bull shit the workers have to put up with.

Yeah, that happened to me at Pizza Hut.
This lady was being all rude to us and she threw the forks and napkins at us and went over to talk to other people. Then when my brother asked her when our pizza was ready, she just ignored us and mumbled something under her breath _dry.gif

if the cashier is semi-rude, i'll just ignore it and buy my stuff...if the cashier is really rude, i'll be like 'im sorry, im going to buy my stuff from the cashier over there' and leave

I've never really had a HORRIBLE experience with rude cashiers. I can't really complain because if I were them, I wouldn't be too happy working at a fast food restaurant like McDonalds either. I mean, honestly... I bet most, if not all of the cashiers would probably like to work somewhere else for better pay.

yeah. like i understand you might not like your job, or your having a bad day. but get over it. it`s no real excuse to make people feel uncomfortable buying things there because you can`t suck it up.

ugh.

I had a rude delivery guy. After pulling up, spinning gravel on my car, steps out and yanks out my pizza. Banged on my door, and looks like he came out from under a bridge.Just a rude guy. I give him my money, he gives me my pizza. Im like, um where is my coke? He actually tells me "Hold your horses" and tosses it at me. I said if you dont like your job, get a new one. Lmao I swear, he could of slapped me. It would be so big, you would hear about me breaking the guy's neck on the Today show.
