christina, you can get a charmander whenever you want through trade.

it just won't show up in the pokedex until you actually get the national dex.

and i have pearl.

Yeah, I had some problems getting connected as well.

As for the WEP key, ask whoever set up the router and all, or see if it's written down somewhere.
