i think people who have contributed an especially great effort to this site (and still are) in the past should not be demoted to regular member because they chose to take a long leave of absense. It's called gratitude. And frankly I dont give a crap what Anna thinks.

I'm sure that Anna can give me a "run for my money." But, she probably would have appreciated it if another rule or exception like this was made when she was struggling to get back to the minimum.
I can't say that I particularly agree. I remember just posting a lot at the time because obtaining official member status was something to work for, and I didn't particularly mind that it took a while. It's only a title. *shrug* There have also been members who have just created a new username to obtain official member status (I believe Spencer did that). So there's something else that you could think about doing.

The problem with having an exception to the rule is that people will start pushing for more exceptions (give them an inch and they'll take a mile).

all im really talking about are former mods. we did all this work for cB and got crap for it. The very least that could be done is letting us keep Official Member titles.

I realize that you can create another screenname, but that's something I really don't want to do. That's also a cheap way to obtain the title. :/

shrug* I don't think it's really that big of an exception. In the writing, it should be made clear that you still have to contribute plenty of posts in the forums, etc.

Also, right now it says you joined in 2007, which is obviously not true. Is that b/c you became unregistered? And, if so, wouldn't that be a way to get your PPD up? I'm not saying that you did do that to get it up, but wouldn't that be another way to easily obtain the 5 PPD?

Oh. Yeah, I would agree with that, too.

There was some talk of a retirement plan for former moderators ages ago. I don't know if that ever got resolved, but for some reason I have a vague impression that we had agreed that former mods could keep their official status if they maintained a 3.5 ppd (not that I can find the thread for the life of me).

hi guys,

how about if we make a new rule where if youve reached, say 3000 posts, you automatically become a permanent official member? ofcourse, that 3000 i pull out of thin air, we can discuss further what number is fair. having such a rule would be good, since as Trish said, there are old members who in the past made a big impact to cb that arent official members anymore.

I find it hard to keep it up with the posts. I'm old, you see. I have a lot of posts. It's better off to start a new account and be an offical member. it's quicker unlike this account. i dont find it fair.

buttttttttt, i like micron idea. i would go with his idea. 3000 is too less?
Other than posts counts, what about contribution and production like ... trish, roxy, and etc?

I miss being an official member. sad.gif

My post count went low low low after being inactive for about, idk a year or so on & off. pinch.gif So, I'm working on it. _smile.gif

But, like mentioned before, other people have had to work hard for their post count to go up.

It would be convenient for us, but then again...it just wouldn't seem fair to others I suppose.

Micron's idea seems super. thumbsup.gif

I have to say I'm find it kind of funny that he made 3500 posts considering the person that made this topic complaining about it has no where near that xD

But hey, now I'll always be an official member even if my ppd goes below 5. How nifty.

Wait, you can still get Official Member status the other way right?

Just when you do get 3500 posts you always have that status.
