This guy had alot of problems needless to say he was scitzophranic .I've been reading and watching news about this and the letters he wrote were twised even his teacher threatend to quit if he was not removed from her class . Yes the guy was a loner but by choice people did try talking to him but he never talked to anyone not even his parents he didn't wanna get close to anyone .He would prank call his roomates and tell them his name was question mark because thats what he wanted people to know him by . He once told his roomate he wanted to go and look a girl straight in the eyes to see if she was cool or not cause I guess thats how he could tell. Plus already had the cops called on his twice from stalker 2 girls on the internet from his school.I believe it was a random shooting but the first 2 that were killed were intentionally .

this is a video from a guy who got shot but survived

Even though I go to college in MA, a rather liberal state, I'm still afraid of backlash against asian communities. It's already begun. Why would the S. Korean president have to apologize for this if he wasn't afraid for political ties and for the Koreans in the U.S.? It's not his fault, yet he wanted to send a delegation to VTech. I've already seen Asians being bashed on facebook. And even though I know that MA should be safe, it doesn't make me any less scared.

because its pretty obvious what most Americans would think if he didnt . and whats wrong with showing compassion and sympathy ? i`d say he has the Guts to actually make a public statement towards this .

I truly feel sad for all the victims and those affected by the VT shootings... when I first heard about it on Monday, I was totally shocked... worst U.S school shooting in history...

Of course, this brings up the issue of gun control once again, which I'll refrain from discussing about here, but yeah. It's extremely scary to think somebody who had been through that much emotional stress in his life could just shoot 32 people in a day...

La Verne High School is closed today I guess somebody was going to do another Columbine. They cannot find the 17 yo kid who stole several rifles, shotguns, handguns, and ammunition. So I am surfing the internet now. People are crazy and it is said they let it get so bad they think the only way out is hurting everyone.

I feel sad for everyone at Virginia Tech.

So you think that person who killed 33 people in Virginia was a lawful citizen who absolutely deserved the gun he got? That he should have gotten the gun because he had the right to? People buy guns to USE them. And he wasn't a criminal - he was mentally unstable. Had the law been stricter, maybe those 32 wouldn't have died.

I know people in Europe DO have guns. But you wouldn't see many highschoolers or college kids swaying them around. The people who own guns have most often gone through a long process to obtain them. Most people don't like that.

This might come as a shock, but I actually know that Virginia is in the U.S. OH MY!!!
My dad, uncle and grandfather had guns. It's nothing new to me. I just think it's unnecessary if you don't really need it. How many times have you been attacked? And how many times have guns been used just for the purpose of killing (and not self-defense)? Guns are made for one purpose only: to take away a life.
They're called car accidents for a reason :) And I don't think somebody will be randomly shooting at me for no reason in Canada. This is one of the reasons I actually like living here.
I wonder why guns are illegal at your school. That's a hard one.
I don't need the freedom to shoot 32 people, thanks.

You're missing my point. All I'm saying is that guns should be harder to get. I've heard that in some places in the U.S. you don't even need a license. That's such a wise decision. Absolutely amazing. Let psychos own guns, man. There's nothing wrong with that, eh?

Fail, go check the other thread.

I almost cried when I first heard about the shooting. I know 2 people that go there, and I have sympathy for the families that lost family members and friends. I just don't understand why someone in their right mind would do something like that. It's just so unmoral like.

Your post was not worth the time you took to write that.

1) He wasn't schizophrenic. The short stories he wrote were far from demented, and if you think that's demented, I wonder how you'd take stories like "Hostel" and whatnot.
2) He was autistic, when he immigrated here a doctor put him down as autistic, so that is probably why he had a hard time being social.
3) I don't know where you got your information, but sounds like most of it was misled.

Throw some D's on that bitch.

NBC only gave out a few at a time.

I've only seen page one, two, five, eleven, and some other twenty something number. I guess they're only showing the ones that would bring in ratings.

Where the hell do you get your news?
Fox?
rolleyes.gif

Anyone, 30+ people died, ya those who were shot were random, but the rampage was not. Cho had bought his weapons in the month before, and one two weeks prior to the shooting. The kid was a walking time bomb, waiting to get set off and rampage his school. In his videos, I believe he mentions that there was nothing anyone could have done to have prevented it. *sigh* Also, what the hell was with the school NOT informing students of the first shooting right away? Why not cancel classes? If there was ever a shooting at my college, I'd hope clases would be out immediately.

RIP all the victims, I sincerely hope none of them suffered.

^ What the hell? Why? Do they believe Cho was God's incarnation or something, and it was His will that they were killed? That's sick. _dry.gif

That Church has about 50 members, mostly of the same family. Does it really matter what a colt thinks and why are we even giving them any attention?

Really? I'll admit, I had to tear myself away from VTech news the past few days or so. Not because it was bothersome, but because I needed a break from it.

I hadn't read or seen that he had autism and I'm sure I would have perked my ears up if I had (my son has autism). I'll have to read more on that. Thanks for the information.

In my opinion, I think it was a way for him to protect American Koreans? I have nothing solid to back that up, but besides making a humanitarian effort to apologize for the profound loss, he might have wanted to do what he could to ensure safety and limit the potential backlash.

Which was why I was talking about being afraid of backlash against Asians in general earlier.

But if Americans weren't so quick to point fingers especially in terms of racially, then the S. Korean president wouldn't have to go through all this to ensure the "safety" of Korean Americans. (not that I think that it'll help much anyways.)
