Obviously, pertaining to types of servers, in MMO's.
[PvE = Player versus Environment, and PvP = Player versus Player]

Personally, I prefer PvP, because if I see an enemy player, I enjoy having the ability to melt his, or her face.

I won't even comment on Private servers, because I just think they're ridiculous.

private servers are indeed ridiculous, but I think they can be fun if BS'ing w/ friends.
I prefer PvP for the same reason you noted. I love just going off and finding someone to kill in my spare time *shrug*
Pve was cool but neh

A combination of both seems the best option.

PVE is the fastest way to make your character progress through levels of ability and gain new items and resources. PVP is more fun in the sense that it is direct competition against another human, but is slow in terms of character development.

I can't say I agree with you, there. I believe I can level on a PvP server, just as fast as I could on a PvE one.

Getting ganked by a high level player, while you're still a lowbie can be annoying, but it gives me a reason, to get to the highest level, to go gank some of the opposite faction's lowbies. :D

I agree with cupcake on this one. Also if someone's farming in the same area you want to be, you can just go and kill them. Kill a few mobs, depending on how far they have to run back, and kill them again. You get honor, a thrill from killing them, and more mobs to yourself.
IF you ran into the same situation on a pve server, you just have to /wave /spit w/e and be on your merry way.
Also ganking is way fun :D

That's sort of where I'm at.

First off, I'm horrible at PvP. I choke up and get all tense for some reason. I've come to the point where I avoid PvP zones when it's possible.

Second, I love character progression and story arcs. To me, it's what makes the game(s) so rich.

I was like that when I first started playing. After being ganked by an opposite faction enough times, you get over it. =p

Personally, I always found PvP servers annoying as hell.
With the whole getting owned, practically everywhere.
PvE servers I found better... always just stuck to PvP in BG's.
Then again, I'm not too much of a ganking horde fan :P
Liked more 40manraids, 25mans, whatever.

Mmm the time sinks amirite?
I stopped raiding because they ran way late and I wake up early for school/work. Also WoW was kinda shitted on when they made the new PvP system so lacking.

4 hours or so back before BC yeah..

It wasnt that bad though :) Being Australian, and being in a aussie guild, usually meant the server (which was "american") was pretty quiet and empty when we raided. Well, IF anyway. We did raid late into night though.. I didnt mind anyhow. Didnt get in the way of school too much.
& the new (though, I suppose its not new anymore) PvP system is dodge, mm. I've gotten over the game, pretty much cause of 25mans :)

I enjoy PvIATIG- Player versus Irrational Addiction To Internet Game, because I usually win, unlike a lot of people who play MMOs.

Hahaha. Hahaha. Ha. I lawl'd.

Anyways, I'm on the East coast, and I'm always up really late, so I joined a West coast guild, and raiding was really comfortable. I haven't done much BC raiding yet, but I'm liking it so far.

Oh, &kayali, what's your guild's name?

WipE, Cenarius server. Apparently we're not doing that great, or so I gather from forum trolling :P Mm yeah, we didnt even get to Magtheridon's Lair before, Kara was enough for me to call it quits & stop logging in. I'm out of time now too, haah. ermm.gif Going from AQ40 and Naxx back to 10mans was just.. well crap imo. Community and guild wise anyway. & Kryogenix.. lol >_<

Ah. There's a really popular Australian guild on my server, Shattered Hand.

As far as raiding goes, I quit doing it a while ago. Every now and then, I'll join a pug, but other than that, I can agree that it blows. My guild split up when BC came out, because they were all a bunch of bitches, with too much drama.

Hopefully raiding gets better. I don't care either way, because I'm not stuck with WoW like I used to be. When WAR comes out, I'm quiting all of the MMO's I'm paying for, &sticking to it. =p
