Ok, first... i dunno if this should be in this section cuz i dunno if peeps are gonna debate it or not... or mayb it should go in entertainment or something... -__- anyway....

Here is a lil summary of what it's all about (you can check more out at the site if you want... kinda interesting ):
They basically preserve your life so that at a later time in the future the technology will be so advanced that they can bring you back and treat your illness or whatever.

They use a process called vitrification to preserve bodies (not turn peeps into big blocks of ice). Cuz during ordinary freezing, the cryoprotectant concentration between ice crystals becomes so high that ice growth eventually stops. So they start with a cryoprotectant concentration that is so high to begin with that ice never forms at all. That is vitrification. The viscosity of the solution they put you in rises so high that the solution becomes a glassy solid that locks all molecules into place.

They perform the procedure right after your heart stops so that you are legally dead so they dont have the same legal restrictions placed on them that apply to people who are legally alive. So like after your heart stops the hospital transfers you to the Alcor medical staff peeps do their stuffs to keep you biologically alive and then you enter into the vitrification process.

Oh and no one has been revived yet from this... the technology now isnt advanced enough to reverse the process. They are hoping that some advances in molecular nanotechnology that they will be able to do something about it... and they said probably in a century or more! That would be whack to wake up in the future!! O_o

Soooo...... i was wondering... you think there are any moral issues involved here? And what about religious issues (I personally think you will go to heaven or hell after you die)? Oh yeah... they dont reallie consider you dead... they think of it more as a 'coma' state... so... is your soul still hanging out here on Earth?? O_o And wouldnt it be sad cuz if it did work then all your friends would be dead in the future!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!
