Hello, I'm new to CB.

My name is Steven. I'm not too good in the area of graphic design etc, but I love forums. I'm so-so with a lot of artistic software, but pretty good with most other software. I love finding backdoors around programs etc. I'm also pretty decent w/ hardware, but anyways.

I love to play soccer and listen to Dream Theater. There's a ton of music I listen to, but progressive metal has my ear at the moment. I play soccer (haha I just mentioned that) and have played since I was 3 years old. I've played recreational, competitive, and indoor.

I played my freshman year on my highschool team but stopped playing and went back to my other league because, well, I could understand the coaches.

I like to think of myself as being in very good shape, and I love racing people/wrestling. I also love racing cars, but that's an introduction in and of itself.

I'm 6'4'' and my girlfriend is 5' flat <3.

Um what else... Phh I'm going to go see Dream Theater live august 3 :D :D
All my college buds just got back in town...
This chair is black...
*shrug*
Ah yes.

I work for an environmental company (OMG GLOBAL WARMING) as someone who enters lab data into excel which is saved to the project folder which eventually gets used in the Phase I/II reports which go to the state etc. Woot I make a difference!
I'm a freshman at the University of Houston (was) and will be a sophomore as of this upcoming august. I'm a business major because I didn't know what else I wanted to do, so I picked something I knew might possibly be useful lol.

I'm arrogant and nice, just depends on my mood lol. I love correcting people's spelling and grammar when they're trying to insult me by using big words. I'm cocky. Lol. I try not to be though *Shrug*

Bout it :) Hi

Oh yeah. Mishyerrr brought me hereeee

Hi Steven! _smile.gif

Wow you must be quite the soccer expert by now, huh. I wish I had the coordination to handle those types of sports but all I'm really up for is running.

I'm Alysa, by the way. Have fun on cB, I look forward to reading more of your posts!

What's Dream Theater? I've never heard of them.
Your girlfriend's name wouldn't happen to be Vivien, would it? o.o

Anyway, have fun posting around!

Dream Theater = awesome (imo) progressive metal band. Their guitarist is also going on tour for the upcoming G3 tour. G3 tour = Joe Satriani + 2 other amazing guitarists that go on tour I think every year. John Petrucci (Dream Theater guitarist) is going this year. Previous years have had guitarists such as Yngwie Malmsteen and Steve Vai. Basically Dream Theater = some of the best musicians out there (you can understand it omg!) and they have fast guitar :D

And my girlfriend is not vivian. It is Mishyerr :D

Oh, okay then. Just asking 'cause my cousin's best friend is named Vivien and lives in Sugarland.
That's cool then! Did she get you to join? laugh.gif

I'll search Dream Theater's MySpace. I don't like metal, but maybe I'll like them. What songs would you recommend by them?

But of course she got me to join lol. I had yet to hear about createblog til she mentioned it to me when I was looking to learn how to make layouts etc. Then I heard bout forums and there was no turning back :D

And their myspace stuff is so-so. A lot of it is off their new album which wasnt that hot. If you wanna download stuff songs such as:
Fatal Tragedy
Metropolis pt 1
Root of all Evil
Strange Deja Vu
Endless Sacrifice
Liquid Tension - Acid Rain (Dream Theater side project, but possibly best song)

Welcome, Steven.

I'll have to check out Dream Theater. I'm pretty dismayed by the majority of newer artists (if you can call them that) so I would love to hear something worthwhile. As far as new (and they aren't really new at all) I love Radiohead, Depeche Mode, Tori Amos and Fiona Apple. They are the more contemporary of those I consider "classic", if you will. I love old rock such as The Beatles and ELO and if I'm just in a goofy mood, I'll throw in the Bee Gee's Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack. I don't know if you've heard of them, but I think VAST is an excellent group.

Phh of course I've heard of all that :D
I know soooo much music its crazy. Good and bad. Dream Theater is hardly new, they've been around since the late 80's. Good stuff tho.
Yeah I know Michelle likes tori amos. Only one you listed that I hadn't heard of is Fiona Apple *shrug*

They're a little difficult to describe.

http://www.realvast.com/home.html

It's edgy (sort of) rock with chants and crazy instrumentals. I don't know, I love them though. :D

Acid Rain / Universal Mind are great songs there. That's Liquid Tension Experiment which is a side project of Dream Theater give and take a couple people.
Acid Rain is just plain awesome though. I listened to VAST, and while it sounds interesting, it sounds kind of slow for my current tastes in music =\
That's not to say that they aren't good imo, just not what I'm into right now. I'm sure I'll eventually come to a point in time where I shift musical interest again and VAST might just fit right into what I want.
