Hello my GF can't get over her ex.

I dated her with the assumption she would...

but she's so obsessed with him...it's like she'll never get over him. and she admitted to me about never getting over him. and then i said i'd break up with her, and she busted out into tears and wouldn't stop calling me (yeah it was over the phone). Then she said she'd try not to put herself into a situation where she could get back with her ex, and i said okay. And now she's saying she just doesn't want a boyfriend, because she doesn't want someone who she doesn't like...apparently she just likes me "because i like her." and then when i threaten to break up (not like outright threatening, just "well then i'll leave you alone" kinda thing) she can't let me just go. and it makes her sad because i'm so nice and all this and that...

and there's this whole thing about she can't let go of him because if she did it'd be like a waste...she's playing the "well that just shows how much i like him" card...and in a way i'm doing the same thing. she's just using me for temporal happiness...but she won't get around teh fact that if i broke up with her it'd be because i didn't care about her, not because she likes another guy. it'd be my fault, not hers.

and i don't want that.

idk what to do.

Thats one major sticky situation your in.
Well this has not really happened to me. Do you still want to be friends with her? Anyways overall it's best that you two break up. She's very confused and can't get over her ex. It will either take time or she will never get over him. Also your not too happy as well, so it all equals to a unhappy relationship.

If in the future she does get over him and you two do genuinely like eachother then you can get back together again.
The other option is to stick it through and hope she gets over it. But this is probably a double edge sword option so I wouldn't recommend it unless your highly sure she will eventually get over him and she can move on with you.

Explain to her, what you have to us. Good luck.

i have a few questions...how long have you two been in a relationship? how long was she and her ex together? and how long has it been since they were not together? i'm just curious so my advice will be kind of acurate and relative i guess? :]

^ Agreed. Simple enough.

If she's that obsessed with him I don't see how you two could work out.

Just dump her. She cant seem to get over her ex so why should you put all your feelings into her? Ovesley she cares about you..a little..but has ALOT more feelings for her ex. Just break up becuase its in the best intrest for her, and you. You will learn to get over her.
