i'm half black and half white and am sick of dealing with ignorant people who think they understand everything there is to know about race issues. i actually had to drop a class because the open discussions on the subject were just too stressful.

I don't understand why racism still exists. One reason I know for a fact why racism still exists is because people are still living in the past where there was one predominant race that rules everything and the other not so popular race serves the predominant one. But anyway, I know plenty of people who are mixed (half black, half white) and they are always harrassed about being mixed. People think that they should only be denounced as one solid race and not mixed.

Well i'm mixed as well although when most people look at me they think i'm just purely from one background.

Racism is always going to be there sadly and like someone else mentioned, it's because some people still think there should be one supreme race when reality is that there isn't and never was and never will be.

Besides I don't think in terms of colour and background. When ever I see someone or meet someone I don't get struck by what colour their skin is. To me there human beings and there's nothing else to it really.

It doesn't matter what color you are, everyone is effected by Racism. It's part of human nature. We don't understand things that are different from us by first glance. Racism is the ignorance of not taking the time to begin to understand people that are different from you.

I know what you mean, sort of. I've never had my race been an issue really cus as soon as it presented a problem I'd squash it. I'm MAINLY filipino and guatemalan but my dad also brings italian native american indian and black and my mom brings french and guamanian. I pretty much fit in everywhere tho.

Just don't let people stereotype you. And if you're a weenie and can't stand up for yourself about it ... then find friends who don't care and quit worrying about people who don't matter. The world as a whole will never accept you or me or anyone.

It's not the colour of a person's skin that counts...it's the person themself. I hate racism but I guess it's not going to disappear. My best friend in primary was half white, half African Caribbean. *sniff* I soo wish I could have stayed in contact with her.

ugh I've always had this problem. What bothers me is I get more racial comments from people my own age who are black or white than anyone else and I don't get it. I was discriminated on by the blacks because "I acted white" and the same in reverse with whites and its like, hello? its a part of me, why would i suppress what is inside me. But the worst thing was parents of my friends. I wasn't allowed to date any of my white friends because their parents didnt want them dating a "black girl." I'm like okay so if we can't have outer race dating, who am I supposed to date? I'm half black, and half some bizzare mix of chinese italian and white. Am I supposed to be single and miserable until I find someone with the EXACT same genetic jumbalaya that I have? How unfair is that? What really gets me is I know white people who are actualy like, german, Irish and French, but their parents will let them date any kind of white person, british, south african, australian, what-the-hell-ever but they can't date me cuz I'm "brown" its just STUPID!!! Whats the damn difference? There isnt one.


And the n word is retarded. There are so many other things you can use to address your 'homies' than that word, and you wouldn't be offending people and giving into ignorance.
