Hi Everyone,

This is my 3rd myspace overlay, but this is the first time that I've had the guts to post my link for critique. I spent an awfully long time on the design and I'm pretty happy with how this one turned out. What do you guys think?

It's pretty good, the colors blend well and everything is in its place. I don't see anything wrong with it, I don't like the picture at the top, but that is just my opinion, and I am sure others would beg to differ, it is probably just because I am a guy.

Yeah, I guess the image would only appeal to a certain audience, but I'm glad you agree that the colors match up and the layout is working properly...that was my main concern... _unsure.gif

Very nice, if a little emo.
I always feel sorry for rollovers without an ":active" state though, adds depth to a page, but very nice indeed.

EDIT: Just had a look thru the source and noticed this:

*/
<style>.div {width:775px; height:px; overflow:auto;
position:absolute; left:50%; top:0%;
margin-left:-387px; margin-top:97px;
visibility:visible;}</style>
/*

"height:px;" <---There is no height value.

The HTML is as follows:

<!--
<div class="div">
<img width="775" height="264" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v400/sh86/smf1.jpg">
<img width="775" height="334" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v400/sh86/smf2.jpg">
<img width="775" height="273" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v400/sh86/smf3.jpg">
<img width="775" height="790" src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v400/sh86/setfree4.jpg">
</div>
-->

All the .jpg heights add up to 1661px, I'm still to read up on XHTML strict but I'd imagine it'd be correct to enter a height value for the class "div". I know you have
"overflow: auto;" in there as well, I guess to make the whole page scroll instead of hiding if the content outsizes the div but if there is no height value will the div expand as necessary in all browsers? Is this what you intended or have I just completely confused myself?

What did you use to create this profile btw? Photoshop and dreamweaver? or are you a coder?

Sorry to be so critical on your first showcase haha, I can't help it, it's very nice clean code, very nice work.

2nd EDIT: Is that top image not eeemm, Sher? Froom that 90s music video, I forget the title.

Simple and organized.
The colors are really nice, well put together.
I love the contrasting titles...
The rollovers definitely stand out.
Kind of Evanescence-ish
No complaints here thumbsup.gif

Oh, ok I see what you mean. I went in and added a height value.

Yes, I did use quite a good deal of Photoshop for this, no Dreamweaver though. I coded it all by hand.

Actually it was pretty simple. I used Photoshop for all my graphics, and also used it to slice my background image into 4 sections. From there I just used the codes provided from createblog to position my DIV and all the content. Oh and for my top image rollover links I used this script. That was pretty much it. Basically LOTS of Photoshop-ing, and then coding by hand, which involved a little trial-by-error, until I finally positioned everything the way I wanted.
