Five dollars I know at least two people who'll catch the title.
Are you afraid of getting older? Not just afraid of change itself, but of just growing. Of getting those wrinkles, of gaining life experience, of realizing that "Shit, a year already?" |

I won't live long enough to be old. Gonna die a spectacular death at the age of 29.
Besides, there's nothing to be scared off. Just make the most of life and enjoy it. |

Eh. You can't say I really had a normal childhood and I've had more experience than I should at 13. (Mind you, I don't bother talking about it and it may be a shock. ![]() |

Kids who are scared of getting older are immature pussies that are afraid they aren't going to be able to handle the real world because they were raised as spoil brats, pampered and raised for "self esteem" rather than reality.

I think what it is for me is just the fear of the unknown. I don't have a set plan for life and so not knowing where and who I'm going to be in 5, 15, 30 years scares me in a sense. I've always been worried that I'll be this old women who won't understand current trends, haha. I'm not too worried about changing physically and mentally I'm just scared of how I'm going to change.

I think what it is for me is just the fear of the unknown. Definitely. I am somewhat afraid of growing up, but it's going to happen whether I like it or not. I can't stop it from happening, so I just have to make the best of it. ![]() I am NOT afraid of getting wrinkles though, not at all. haha |

The thing about getting old, is the fear of the unknown. Also changes. In this day and age alot can change in 5 years or less. So in 40 years time soo much would of changed. Can you adapt and cope with such changes? I think these are the main questions people ask themselves when they think of getting old.

Apparently, one of the most popular solutions to the aging adaptation problem seems to involve becoming viciously bitter, playing domino, developing absurd everyday routines and pretending to be deaf to annoy the hell out of people. |

I'm not gonna lie. I'm a little scared of growing up.
But, mostly? I'm so f**king excited. September is when my independent life is going to start for real and I just can't wait. |

^Good for you! Srsly.
![]() For me, I don't think I as much fear the unknown as I do the things I supposed do know. Like all the responsibilites; the bills, the food, the transportation. I am so utterly and pathetically lazy sometimes and it scares me I may have badly prepared myself for growing up. |

love that song. A little bit, actually. I kind of want to stay the fun loving, spontaneous extrovert kid i am now. But you never know until you actually experience your future, right? |

I do play Scrabble though. ![]() I'm an old(er) broad, but I was never scared of getting older. I don't care much about wrinkles or gray hair (not that have a lot of either, I did see a few gray hairs that I plucked out though :[ ). I think that having a young child in the house (my 7 year-old son) helps me feel young. |

I'm quite... unorganized, irresponsible and lazy at times. ;( I'm so scared about when the time comes that I'll have to leave my family... my parents, haha. I'm scared I won't be able to handle it alone. |

i`d say im in that mixed state right now . i`d say its important to stick with your innner child . i feel like it will get you to places . but . in the other hand . orobably it won`t i think feeling mentally young will keep you very helathy and energetic in a way .

definitely. i don't want to get old at all. wrinkles are disgusting and i don't want to get the "old peoples' smell". ew. i'd rather die young than live up to 80 even though i'm scared of death just so i don't have to get old.

Apparently, one of the most popular solutions to the aging adaptation problem seems to involve becoming viciously bitter, playing domino, developing absurd everyday routines and pretending to be deaf to annoy the hell out of people. That explains why most elderly people i've met are bitter, sad and moody. But then you get the occasional few who accept it all. If I grow old (Pray that I don't) then I won't ever be bitter unless something truly traumatic happens to me but besides that, nope. Like someone else said, i'll grow old on the outside but still be young at heart. |

So stop this train.. I want to get off and go home again, can't take the speed it's moving in... I know I can't, but honestly, won't someone stop this train. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v319/mis...fied/JM-025.jpg I feel about this subject the same why John Mayer sings about it in this song. I don't have a fear of getting older, I fear losing people close to me & letting things slide by too quickly without taking it all in. Yeah, that pretty much sums it all up for me too. I'm not afraid of what I'll look like, or what kind of person I'll end up being. I just know as time goes by, I'm slowly going to lose the people I love. And then knowing that I'll never be able to go back in time and relive something, like being a little kid, being a teenager, and the time I've spent with lost loved ones. ![]() |
