Ok, so pretty much everyone i am sure has come across the I have a crush on my really close friend. Well, just want to throw this out there for you guys in this dilemma.
We had talked kind of a lot about relationships before, and lately he had been flirting to a point where I knew he was not just joking around only...then basically he asked me if I liked him. I freaked out then and said only as a friend...but I felt so guilty and knew it would haunt me everytime I spoke to him whether the feelings were mutual. I told him that I would go out with him...our issue was distance; hes in RI, im going to chicago for college this fall...if he lived nearer, but we should probably just stay friends. He told me he liked me back but that starting something really wouldnt work. So bascially we agreed that we liked each other but couldnt be together in the way we wanted to be... Yes, it was awkward but I know in the long run this was the right thing to do. I think our friendship is going to be more comfortable now, knowing that feelings kind of crossing that border between love and friends is mutually ok. But yeah...it is a bit sad. Knowing we like each other... ![]() I hope tho, that for those of you with guyfriends not 3 states away that you like (lol) confessing is defineitly an option. And its good to be honest...you might be losing out on a great thing. If your feelings came out of a deep freindship, that foundation is hard to shake. Even if its not completely the same right away, I belive...well I have to believe that somehow good will come out of how hard it can be. fight onn. ![]() |

I hate that whole, really-good-friends-and-crushing-but-don't-wanna-risk-it situation... I've had experiences where I lost my friend after the relationship ended. But I guess it's a game of chance, however you decide to act anyways. Good things can come out of unexpected situations if you just take a chance... |

I agree with all of you. That phase of just 'friends but not yet lovers' is just so awkward. It just seems so strange. It's a gamble of course, because we all know that after that, friendships just don't last as long anymore. Haha, that happened to me after Homecoming. But now, he's going out with one of my girl friends. I wouldn't say a backstabber, but hell, what happened to being best friends?
I guess good relationships don't always come from being best friends with someone after all... but I know that there are a lot of relationships that have benefitted from being best friends. lol |
