Having trouble breathing. Unable to sleep as a result for two consecutive nights, I checked into the hospital.

The emergency room waiting area was the real experience of the night. Lots of sick hurt people there.

They medical staff were very nice.

Had my chest X-Ray. No pnuemonia, no cancer.

Had blood tests. No flu, no HIV.

Diagnosis - Bacterial infection.

Treatment - Respiratory treatments, IV fluids, pain medication, antibiotics, anti-inflamatory medication.

At home now I feel better now...

Until I get the bill.

Heh, the bill.

It always hits me right when I get into the Emergency waiting room; how many people are there, how many reasons there are, how long they've been waiting.

Well, I suppose there's a bunch that can be discussed here. Like ummmm...how expensive medical bills get, what it's like being in an emergency room, maybe people can share their encounters with the Emergency Room and such and such and such. _smile.gif

The bill always sucks. My mom went in for her nerve testing and she's resubmitted it to her health insurance twice and so now we're waiting to see what they will cover. Just ONE test cost around $2,000.

I haven't been in the hospital for myself in a long time. I think the last time was once when I had pneumonia. I'm pretty subborn, so unless if I'm passed out and someone takes me there I usually never go. Over summer I cut my hand open between my index and second finger and never went in to get stitches so it had to remain as an open wound... not comfy.

lol I was in hospital today..and yesterday. I had this thing called pneumothorax.. that's a problem with a person's lungs. It was my 3rd day in a row seeing the doc but everything went well.. still have to go back monday tho! :( for a follow-up x-ray and then go back in 2 wks for a CT scan. I hate going to the hospital..and seeing sick people :(

If you have insurance, you pay little for the bill, I remember in the emergency room with my sister, I waited there for like 5 hours until she was done, and we had to pay like a lot. :[
