So, we've all met at least one guy who finds joy in mimicking what we say. Do you find it humorous or annoying?
I hate when I say something and they repeat it in a high pitched voice.

^ Yeah, I agree. I don't like it when people imitate what I speak in a diff. language. But in a cute way, mimicking can be funny. It just depends on my mood & the guy doing it and for what reason. Flirting would be a funny way, but just to bother you makes me wanna punch`em.

I lived on long island for a long time when I was young, and I still have the infamous long island accent. A lot of people are like "OMG I love your accent!" but, there there are certain people who feel the need to constantly make fun of it. they exaggerate it to no end and it sounds horrible when they mimic it. It makes me wanna slug 'em. Hard.

Its okay if I know that guy was joking, cause most of my guy friends like to copy what I say. But if I didn't know the guy and he says it in an irratating way, than I get annoyed.

It depends. Lots of the time it may come off as the guy being obnoxious and mocking. Other times, it's just funny.

Usually I find it rather annoying. Mind you, most guys don't do that anymore at this age...well...I hope. Generally, I just find it to be an irritating thing.

Omg. I read the first few lines of the topic and immediately thought of this one guy in my PE class.
 Well, half the time he is pretty nice/decent but he can get annoying of course, like all guys do. I don't find it that amusing.

one guy does that to me all the time. mostly it's just words.. example: i guess i say "sorry" in a really strange way because whenever he mimics me he says it as "SAW-reee" extra exagerrated. but then i said it to myself & yes, i do say it that way & now i can't have a conversation with him & say that word because i'm embarrassed.

i don't know about you guys, but i have a HABIT of mimicking people.
it actually develops loads of accents hahaha. i'm like an accent type of person. i can have different types of voices when i want to, and it's cool for me. but my accent is american and i lived in scotland for a long time >_>... and i sound like a bimbo. so my mates keep on MIMICKING ME. it's bit of an annoyance, but i'm fine with it :P (i have an american accent because i was born there) :) xxx |
