Watching a movie with your bf/gf
If you were watching a movie with your gf/bf under a blanket, would your parents be concerned and watch the movie with you guys?

My parents don't care, they give us privacy because they know we're not going to do anything seriously bad.

any time I've had a significant other over, my parents have like... stalked us.

and one time last summer (I was 15, almost 16), my at the time bf invited me over to his house and his dad, his dad's bf, and a random 40 yr old lesbian who lived there were there. My mom didn't think that was enough supervision and she invited herself in and set up her laptop in their kitchen. We went upstairs to watch tv (the only tvs in the house were in ppl's rooms) with the door open, and she felt the need to come upstairs literally every five minutes.

Erm no. My father generally is fine with it. He lets my boyfriend come up to my bedroom with me, he does give us abit of a warning. But he'll give us peace from like 7-11 (:. We're only 15, so my dad doesn't think anything will happen. I also have respect for his wishes so I make sure that nothing happens, except for watching movies (y).

holyfuck I'd be so pissed..that is COMPLETELY out of line.

Of COURSE, there is the whole, 'he cares for you, just making sure you dont do anything stupid, watching over' etc thing, which is TRUE..

..BUT that's why at MOST, they come down and check in on ya whenever, just peaking in, or walking through, but NOT SITTING DOWN AND WATCHING THE ENTIRE MOVIE. I would be EXTREMELY Pissed, probably walk out or stand up to them at the spot.

My parents, I think, have a certain amount of trust in me. This one time, I had my boyfriend over and my whole family was watching a movie, but my mom and dad went to bed, and left me and my boyfriend alone with a blanket over us. Needless to say the blanket part wasn't really needed when they left shifty.gif.

My mother is very trustworthy and my dad, well, he just doesn't want to know.

I'd say your parents are just protective. It's probably for the best. My parents aren't very protective and I've done some things that I regret.
