help with selection path |

hey, ive been working on photoshop for a bit then something weird happen and i dont know how to fix it. I will try to explain but my english is not very good.
First i use the rectangular marquee to select part of my picture that i want to paint. When i use that it should normally let me colour only specific area inside the box. However, it won't let me colour inside but instead let me colour everything outside the selection box. I'm not sure what i did, and i dont know how to fix. So helpppppppppp? anyoneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee? |

Go to select > inverse then fill.
Then I suggest resetting all or just that tool. |
