I've read a lot of stuff on the internet, books, etc. about love.
A lot of impressive, touching, heartbeat-skipping writing. But I still always wonder at the end of every piece, "What is love?" I've been inspired everytime to write something of my own. Throw in another opinion into that chaotic ocean of thoughts. And until now, I've just had enough, and I'm ready to change someone's life. Love. You know which kind of love. It's love. When you're holding hands with that someone special, or gazing at them from far away. Just taking it in slowly, their beauty. Or is it lust? Infatuation? There's so many words, accusations and assumptions that pile on top of that four-letter word. And it makes it hard to figure out the real deal. You try to close your eyes, clear your mind, find that one truth somewhere inside. But it's so hard and you're never sure. When you think you've really found it, you think again, and that one sidetrack just cost you a million steps back. There you are then, fighting to get back to the front of the race, because you're dying to see him or her at the end. Waiting for you and the truth. People give up, give in, give out to this stupid excuse of a definition for the most wonderful, infinite feeling in the world. Because they're afraid or unsure. But really, it's okay. You all just have to know that. It's really okay. Don't expect that other person to love you back and don't feel like they expect you to love them back. Don't even think about saying it. Do you feel something? Is it weakness or strength? And what kind of weakness is it, what kind of strength? That's it. Nothing else. Because what is love? Maybe it's a completely different idea to them than to you, wich makes this one word two and totally alien to the other. How old are we? Too young. Or are we? Once again, love has forced you to come to this obstacle that pushes and pushes your limits. Dares you to take risks, to lose or gain everything. But are you willing to finish it and win? Others will try while others will turn back. Yes, it hurts. You'd rather die at that moment than move on knowing the person you "love" didn't want to keep going anymore. But no regrets. Take it all in. Day by day. This is what you should love. Feel it. Live for it. Experience it with every breath. Because you're so much closer to finding some truth. Everytime you think you're falling apart, just look for that small light. It's there but you've missed it everytime you cried because your perfect life went away, and now all you have is that worthless memory you chose to lock away instead of use. To build your heart, make it a fortress. There are no guarantees in life other than the fact that you will die. Are you going to be dead before you're even there, or are you going to live and make the right decision to forgive, remember, and cherish? You don't have to have this great faith in one day or happily ever after. You just have to keep that tiny hope in your pocket and believe in it. Trust me, something good will happen. Even then, though, there's no promise of eternity. Just keep in mind that love is only what you make of it. And if you give to it your utmost true mind and feeling, it will give back to you. Do me a favor and the next time you're in love, look at that person, right in their eyes all the way past their hearts and into their souls. And seek truth. This is what it's about. Truth. Not love. Love is what came from the truth. When emotions find themselves in a beautiful wreck, and there you are saying, "I love you." Note: I rambled basically here. Sorry if some things don't make sense or seem like they're put together. |
