by the way...anyone want to figure this puzzle out? Conspiracies!I personally found this guy's story rather fantastic. I mean, you've got a kid who's known as a "loner" who even marked himself as "?" on a sign up sheet; he was the real "anonymous." He's written these amazing macabre plays where even the investigators commented as something they would have never even thought of before. The kid supposedly made two rounds of attacks on the school using guns with filed out serial numbers, left a note about the massacre back, and everything. And still, investigators aren't finding it easy on uncovering information on the him. This guy had the persona of an enigmatic killer. |

This numbed me when I heard about it... May all the victims rest in peace, and their families be comforted.
I'm at a loss for words. |

I WANT TO SEE MR. BROWNSTONE BLEED TO DEATH
^If they do feel insincere, then at least they're being honest. You can't expect EVERYONE to mourn for a stranger. It's better than insulting their memory by crying "crocodile tears". I don't know the people. I can't really really really feel bad. But I do feel bad. I do feel that they deserved to have lived their one chance in life. not a girlfriend I think..I was reading the article it said that he was stalking a woman who rejected him. @ podhomat http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070417/ap_on_...a_tech_shooting by the way...anyone want to figure this puzzle out? http://www.crimelibrary.com/notorious_murd...mass/index.html |

What is disturbing is the little speech Bush gave after this. He said something along the lines of
"America is praying for you", and "it's ok for people to obtain guns. It's just not ok to use them" Obviously, a-hole, it's NOT okay for people to obtain guns - how many more shootings are there going to happen before somebody realizes having guns legally is the most pathetic idea they can come up with? And don't pray, for god's sake, try and do something that will make a difference for ONCE. This is human lives we're talking about, not money. I know this was written in the constitution 200 years ago, but guess what - the British aren't around anymore shooting Americans out of the blue. So there is no excuse for americans to "just have a gun" handy at all times. Especially when there are such psychos around everywhere. I stay by my opinion that money is the root of all evil. And the NRA. FYI, people here in Canada have as many guns as Americans do. Yet we're rarely going around and shooting each other. It's just a lot harder to get them, that's all. |

I cant believe after the first shooting at 7:00, they didnt bother to properly inform all the students. All they did was send out emails... who the heck checks their email that early in the morning? The school was equipped with emergency alarms, which were never set off. It's almost like they continued classes like it was no big deal. I cant help but to imagine, what if they would have locked down the school properly? The additional 30 deaths could have possibly been prevented. The first thing I do when I wake up, before I go to class, is check my e-mail, just in case there is some important announcement, or if, luck permits, a class gets canceled for that day. They also, according to the administration, sent the RAs through the residence halls to let the students know what happened. And you only set off emergency alarms when there is just that, an emergency, like a fire or something; they thought it was an isolated incident until the gunman started shooting up Norris. This isn't to defend VT's administration because I do think they could have done more to prevent the massive loss of human life -- i.e. lock down the buildings after the first shootings -- but I do see where they're coming from.

LOL you fail at understanding the constitution. Go back to history class. Why the f**k would I take American history in class? And of course I know that wasn't the reason to make guns legal. But it was one of them. QUOTE Go give your life savings to Darfur, you hypocrite! Why don't you go say that to the victims' families? :) Idiot. |

Bullshit. Straight bullshit. I understand the Constitution. The Constitution is wrong. You're wrong. Just because gun control becomes tougher, doesn't mean it's going to stop anything at all. It'll just become like drugs, with a dealer on the corner of the street offering to sell guns; only it'll be easier to get guns, and ANYONE with cash will be able to get them. Nice job trying to think things through, retard. |

Anyone with cash can get them now, but ok. You're totally right. The fact that it may become difficult to enforce is TOTALLY a good reason not to tighten the laws as to who can own a gun and what kind fo gun they can own.

i like how cultural shalllowism if theres such a word destroyed this poor fellow . My thoughts on the Aftermath of Virginia Tech :
Well America . America is a big mistake . - Sigmund Freud i hope you're joking..because OBVIOUSLY there has been something wrong with this kid for many many years. you dont go and kill your girlfriend and 30 something people because she cheated on you. today they even released that the guy had written several disturbing plays which were sent to the administration for being graphic and overly violent. of course, they never actually dealt with the situation. perhaps if they had this kid wouldn't have been in the position to murder all of these people. and for the person who said that people are being "insincere" because they don't know anybody who goes there, GO TO HELL. what kind of a human are you? all because something doesn't directly affect you doesn't mean you can't sympathize with those who were. most people ARE affected by issues such as AIDS in africa because it is a major problem. the reason why many issues in our world today arent being solved is because there are people like you on this planet, so thank you. i truly believe that many people who replied in this thread are being ignorant. atleast read a couple of articles or turn on the news and actually learn about the event before you try to discuss what happened. yes, it was worse than Columbine. you don't need to know too much about either shooting to realize that. yes, it was the greatest mass murder in the history of the U.S. there has never been a time where a single person has killed more than 30 people at a time. /rant let me remind you of one thing . facts of life . there are probably people who do have the same sort of mindset of him , . and you don`t know how close you could endup meeting with them . lets talk about the many crazy minded individuals who head Fashion Magazines who starts disliking there top staff members because of specific social issues and dissagreements on projects . yet instead of shooting 30 people . he/she fires 30 people . just dropped 30 peoples job with just a simple . the kid needed discipline or the kid needed comfort . |

Bullshit. Straight bullshit. I understand the Constitution. The Constitution is wrong. Yeah ok, let's make more laws. Because the laws sure did a good job stopping this kid. Yep, America should become a police state and have camera surveillance everywhere we go and have the government spy on our citizens even more than they are now. What kind of country does that? QUOTE Anyone with cash can get them now, but ok. You're totally right. The fact that it may become difficult to enforce is TOTALLY a good reason not to tighten the laws as to who can own a gun and what kind fo gun they can own. :eyeroll: No, the fact that you gain little by taking away guns from the upstanding citizens. You know, the ones that would be able to pull out their own gun and stop the other person from killing 30 people. The best part is the same thing applies to getting drunk, except drinking related deaths are higher than gun related deaths in youth. |

KC: I agree. All it takes is a spark to burn the place down. Who knows, this may be the beginning of violence to come. People need to get a grip on shit, man. Our society is deteriorating from within. You make a good point, while Americans are worried about people from the outside looking in, the people not foriegn to this country can do just as much damage. I mean who do you point a finger at for the deterioration of society? You want to blame Grand Theft Auto, but people from other countries play violent videogames, and you don't see this kind of stuff happening there. I understand where you getting at, but the Constitution isn't the Constitution. The fourth amendment supposedly protects us from Unreasonable Search and Seizures, but that doesn't stop the Patriot Act from invading upon a person's privacy. The Constitution is just a piece of paper which can be manipulated and interpreted by Congress anyway they so please. Edit // As you said, a person can still obtain the guns illegally. So I am at a lost for words what can possibly be done. |

Yes, Because extra bullets flying around in situation of mas panic is EXACTLY what we want. Goodie. Less than 1% of deaths from shootings are carried out in self-defence. People don't want guns for self-protection, they want them because they have a bizarre fetish which makes them feel as though they need a dangerous, disgusting thing in their homes and hands in order to be 'safe'. f**king sickening. Alright let's stop setting up strawmen here. I suppose we shouldn't let cops have guns then, since we don't need extra bullets.
QUOTE Less than 1% of deaths from shootings are carried out in self-defence. Source please. QUOTE People don't want guns for self-protection, they want them because they have a bizarre fetish which makes them feel as though they need a dangerous, disgusting thing in their homes and hands in order to be 'safe'. You are basing this on... what? Your own biased, uninformed opinion? Pro tip: not everyone who wants a gun is some toothless redneck. It's laughable that you find a gun an evil thing. Guns aren't evil. They are simply tools that can be used for evil, or for good. I'm just sorry you can't see that. Everyone got scared when Florida passed that self defense law. Guess what, it's not some Wild West shootout like everyone said it would be. I'm not saying we should arm everyone. That would be a disaster. But if someone is trained and licensed, they should be able to carry a concealed weapon. |

I would like to point out that one of the most common (the fact that it is idiotic not withstanding) arguments IN FAVOUR of guns is 'security', and that the 2nd ammendment was originally established to promote security from British people trying to take back their colonies.
Furthermore, I would like to ask, if it is a question of over simplifying things to establish what people 'deserve', does the person who would NOT give up a little 'liberty' deserve to be shot? Alright let's stop setting up strawmen here. I suppose we shouldn't let cops have guns then, since we don't need extra bullets. Source please. You are basing this on... what? But if someone is trained and licensed, they should be able to carry a concealed weapon. Source was The Independent I bought this morning. I don't think you have to be a toothless, red-neck hick to have a fetish for guns, but OK. And I'm basing that on my own opinion, yes. Although I reject the idea that it is biased. I didn't say they were 'evil', I said they were dangerous. And I said they were disgusting, which is my opinion. I find them, and the ownership thereof, to be distasteful I think people who are trained and licensed ought to be able to carry guns. I just think that process ought to be a hell of a lot more exclusive. |
