Definition

Some people get confused or don't really know the complete definition for "Anime" or "Otaku" is. So here are the definitions to help you out!

Anime: a style of animation originating in Japan. It is sometimes referred to by the portmanteau Japanimation. Anime is characterized by stark, colorful graphics and stylized, colorful images depicting vibrant characters in a variety of different settings and story-lines, aimed at a wide range of audiences. Anime may be broadcast on television, distributed on media such as DVDs or published as console and computer games. Anime is usually influenced by Japanese comics known as manga.
Otaku: a variety of geek (or an overly obsessed fanboy / fangirl) specializing in anime and manga.

Hey everyone. You're right. This place IS in need of a revival, but then again, cB as a whole isn't doing so hot.

I have a question to put out there to everyone. Summer is fast approaching and by that time I'm sure a lot of kids will be burning away precious time in the sun on cB. What kinds of activities and functions would you like our AO members to do TOGETHER?

As for the anime night, we tried twice to get it up and running, but there was too little interest to bother planning it. If I saw that there was a fair amount of anticipated participation, I'd definitely give it another go.

Katie, Tramps Like Us in a great manga. Not to mention it's already out to volume 11 and comes out every other month (as usual). It's a highly underrated series and I highly recommend.
