Yeah, that's what I heard. He only shot the people he planned to shoot, right? I don't think he shot anyone randomly.. ? According to an eyewitness, for the second shooting it did seem very random and chaotic. This is one of those stories where get a play by play, headline by headline. Reminds of 9/11 on a (much?) smaller scale. But you know, for some reason the very first time I saw the headline, I was shocked, but not as shocked as I feel I should've felt. I think all the war headlines has kind of numbed me to the word "shooting", almost as if to hear or see such a headline isn't a big deal. Turns out, this one's bigger than a big deal. |

I knew one of the girls that was killed. Her name wass Lauren McCain. Dear God, we lost a good one.. Aw, I'm so sorry! ![]() I'm sure everybody hates the gunman right now, and I do too. But I kind of feel bad for him, I mean, he was a loner and his girlfriend broke up [or cheated?] on him.. I know what he did was crazy and stupid, but I felt bad for him.. He was having a tough life.. But he shouldn't be taking it out on others. Wow, so I hate him but feel bad for him. ![]() |

Oh so a female created this huge mess.. do you think that comment was necessary? th5418, i can understand your sentiment but you don't need to be directly affected to recognize that this is a tragic event nor do you need to be directly affected to mourn for the senseless and cruel loss of life. i'm not crying my eyes out for someone i don't know but i do feel sympathy and offer my condolences to the victims and their families. you accuse people of not caring about africa and aids and etc., but you are quick to ridicule some people for extending their sympathy to the people who have suffered. it's an act of humane kindness to sympathize for others who are grieving. what i don't appreciate the 90128409234 new facebook groups about virginia tech and its victims by... random people. i hate people who go "i don't joe smith but i really miss you" or "you must have been a really great guy". those people make a mockery out of those who are really grieving. |

But remember the Xanga site that is supposely the killers Xanga. I don't think that's the killers xanga - The killer was korean, and on that xanga, he joined a Chinese blogring. He [WanusMaximus?] updated his live journal on 4/17, which is today, but he committed suicide yesterday. His name is Wayne, but the killers name is Cho Seung Hi [sp?] The xanga was really scary though. pictures of guns everywhere. |

Oh so a female created this huge mess.. i hope you're joking..because OBVIOUSLY there has been something wrong with this kid for many many years. you dont go and kill your girlfriend and 30 something people because she cheated on you. today they even released that the guy had written several disturbing plays which were sent to the administration for being graphic and overly violent. of course, they never actually dealt with the situation. perhaps if they had this kid wouldn't have been in the position to murder all of these people. and for the person who said that people are being "insincere" because they don't know anybody who goes there, GO TO HELL. what kind of a human are you? all because something doesn't directly affect you doesn't mean you can't sympathize with those who were. most people ARE affected by issues such as AIDS in africa because it is a major problem. the reason why many issues in our world today arent being solved is because there are people like you on this planet, so thank you. i truly believe that many people who replied in this thread are being ignorant. atleast read a couple of articles or turn on the news and actually learn about the event before you try to discuss what happened. yes, it was worse than Columbine. you don't need to know too much about either shooting to realize that. yes, it was the greatest mass murder in the history of the U.S. there has never been a time where a single person has killed more than 30 people at a time. /rant |

^If they do feel insincere, then at least they're being honest. You can't expect EVERYONE to mourn for a stranger. It's better than insulting their memory by crying "crocodile tears".
I don't know the people. I can't really really really feel bad. But I do feel bad. I do feel that they deserved to have lived their one chance in life. Aw, I'm so sorry! ![]() I'm sure everybody hates the gunman right now, and I do too. But I kind of feel bad for him, I mean, he was a loner and his girlfriend broke up [or cheated?] on him.. Wow, so I hate him but feel bad for him. ![]() not a girlfriend I think..I was reading the article it said that he was stalking a woman who rejected him. @ podhomat QUOTE Despite the many warning signs that came to light in the bloody aftermath, police and university officials offered no clues as to exactly what set Cho off on the deadliest shooting rampage in modern U.S. history. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070417/ap_on_...a_tech_shooting by the way...anyone want to figure this puzzle out? QUOTE The Washington Post quoted law enforcement sources as saying Cho died with the words "Ismail Ax" in red ink on one of his arms, but they were not sure what that meant

I didn't read through all the posts, but this truly is a horrible thing. Last night on the news they made it seem like it was some good record that he set. They brought up the incident of the Uni. of Texas and Whitman. It's a shame, it really is. It can't really be compared to Columbine, so I don't understand why they are comparing the two.
I honestly think that after the first two murders happened that they should've let the campus know, esspecially because they didn't apprehend the person who committed those murders. Regardless of if they did or didn't think the person would kill again, the other students should've known; so they're going to take some heat for that. |

x2 ^ i'm not saying everyone should cry and mourn about it. its more of a "what if that were me or one of my loved ones?" kind of thing. i think that everyone should atleast recognize those who were killed yesterday and not shrug their shoulders like it was just another ordinary day.
