QUOTE(mishyerr @ Mar 27 2007, 8:14 PM) *
lol, you're such a romantic.
I STILL LOVE EDWARD, NO MATTER HOW MUCH OF A STALKER HE IS. :D

WHAT DOES EVERYONE THINK OF JAKE?

I know that Stephenie included Jake as someone very lovable and we should all like him because he helped Bella, but I don't. I very strongly dislike Jake because well... devil.gif . I guess I probably just don't like him because he's getting in between Bella and Edward, and well, you know.

QUOTE
First off and most importantly, WHAT THE f**k is wrong with Bella? She thinks that turning into a vampire is just something a little family can vote on? I hate how they play down the importance of IMMORTALITY in the novel. It is so immature and stupid. I was disappointed. At least with other vampire novels, the transformation is not so trivial.

I get what you're saying. But at the same time I also get how Edward wants her to stay human blahblah, but then IF YOU LOVE HER SO MUCH JUST FREAKING BITE HER ALREADY. Jeesh.

QUOTE
Also, no matter how much I love Edward, wouldn't you be creeped the hell out and embarrassed to death if some hot guy were watching you sleep? I mean, come on, get real. You fart, scratch, and drool in your sleep. That's sick.

I've thought about that. I'm very paranoid about bodily noises, and having some extremely hot guy hearing them while you're sleeping? I'd be mortified! Think about being in a house full of vampires and your stomach growls. Hahaha. blush.gif

QUOTE
I admire Stephanie Meyer's book very much, but sometimes it just gets too cliche. The whole story is a bit TOO much of a mushy-mushy romance novel, sometimes.

I like mushy-mushy romance novels. Then again, I'm only fourteen... whistling.gif

Oh, haha, that's not abnormal. I liked those kinds of books when I was 13, I think. I like happy endings. XD.gif

Since this seems to be turning towards a Twilight thread, there is a Edward Cullen group (click the banner in my sig). Join it! :)

We should discuss other books about vampires and vampires in general.

For example, if you could become a vampire, which transformation would you prefer (which myth) and what age would you want to become a vampire? Also, who do you think your perfect vampire mate would be? Your current relationship, a novel vampire, or someone else?

:) I love me vamps.

I would become a vampire through Anne Rice's way. (Exchange of human blood w/ vampire blood.) I think it seems to be the most 'accurate' and 'acceptable way.' I want to be a vamp. at 24 because that seems like a fun -filled age that is not too old, yet not too young. Still beautiful! I would definitely transform my current boyfriend (if he's willing and accepting) into my vampire mate because he is perfect, and I love him.

Okay so I read New Moon and Twilight in two days. LOVE them, incredibly eager for the third one.

Interview with a Vampire was good, I like the book better. Queen of the Damned was a good movie but it didn't touch what I felt was the soul of the book - the story of the red-haired twins. Anyone else feel similar?

Also, has anyone read the Sleeping Beauty series under Anne Rice's other name? Its nothing to do with vampires, just wondering.

To answer mishyerr's question - I value my mortality. I don't subscribe to the belief that vampires are damned, but I do think it gets incredibly lonely, living forever.

Yeah, that seems like the most traditional way. That's how I'd want to be vampified too.

I'd like to become a vampire at 16 (now), 19, or 21. I don't know I like those ages. Naturally we're all inclined to say EDWARD CULLEN! as our vampire mate laugh.gif but I'm not really sure. I'll have to think about that one.

Sure, Charles. Welcome. Selvy will add you to the list when he gets on. :]

Oh, I've heard of those books. I tried reading them but their style didn't appeal to me. Maybe I'll try them again.

yeah they are somewhat girly (no offense) which usually isnt my style, but I do find it humorous and amusing so that makes up for them. Oh, and thank you shifty.gif

You know thinking about Twilight got me wondering about vampires. Edward's rant (or thats how I read it) in the meadow brought this on actually. What's with all the extra talents? Why do vampires get immortality, super strength, speed, and allure?

They're beautiful because they're predators; they use their beauty to draw in their prey. I can only imagine that their strength and speed help with the hunt. Vampires' extra talents are an exaggeration of any talents they had as a human. For example, Alice was in an asylum because she could "see the future". Edward was always very good at reading peoples' minds, through their expressions or body language. Esme was very loving, and Rosalie was the most beautiful girl in New York, etc. I don't know why vampires get immortality, but it's a very lonely card to get dealt.

Has anyone read a book with vampires that weren't perfectly muscular or at least thin? How does a plus size vampire work? Do you get agility and strength regardless or does your body change? I can't imagine being plus sized helping with hiding from crazed humans with fire and pitchforks, or sleeping in coffins... Just a thought

Well, vampires are attracted to their prey... Not saying that plus sized people aren't attractive, but generally vampires prey on thin, beautiful people. And all vampires get strength and agility, but there are still those that are faster. So I guess overweight vampires get... slower fast speed? Less extreme strength? Hah.

Yeah, Cirque Du Freak. There's the kinda hippie-type one who dresses in animal furs, Vancha March. He can still flit even though he's overweight.

Actually, it depends on the specific writer you're looking at. Many vampires perish in sunlight while others do not. Most vampires I've read about are physically beautiful, perfect, and strong. Also, I think vampires choose already beautiful people to transform; I don't think they would put the burden of immortality on an ugly person (no matter how 'cruel' or 'prejudice' that may seem, hahahaha)

The only unperfect vampire I can think of is Laurell K Hamilton's Asher and he's only that way because the church caught him and tried to "cure" his vampirism with holy water. The entire side of his face and chest is scar tissue. But before that he was turned specifically because of his beauty.

Haha Michelle, your teachers know about your obsession? I don't think I'd ever tell my teachers that unless they were really young and cool or something.

You guys are probably more open about it then. Whenever I bite my friends, I make sure no teachers are nearby otherwise I'd get in trouble for...I dunno, assaulting them or being a cannibal. XD.gif

My teachers... well, one of my teachers knows about my obsession because my friends tease me and then she teases me too. I showed her Stephenie's website and her cast lists, and she thought Henry Cavill (Edward) was hot laugh.gif
