Okay.. to make a long story short;

There's this guy who I like, who I'll call A. He's popular, well known guy who I met on Halloween at a small get-together party with mutual friends. A couple weeks after the party he added me on MSN and we clicked and would talk for hours each day. And I guess I'd develop feelings for him.

Okay, that wasn't necessarily but I thought I'd just add that on for the hell of it. hehe.gif

So here's the story:

Me, my friends B and C were in a convo with A. A, (as usual) was annoying the sh*t out of B. (by using insult humor) B was obviously angry and I don't know if B did this on purpose but on the convo with me, A and C, she said - "Lina (me), C, go start a new convo with me, I need to tell you something that A can't know." And so made a new convo with just me and C. She told us very surprising news - A's school buddies all jumped him a couple days ago when he was walking home from school all because A's annoying and 'retarded'. So anyway, basically, the popular boy (A) got jumped and now he's got no friends at all. And I was shocked and I guess, you can say.. I pity (not sure if that's the right word?) him because well getting beat up because you're annoying, to me, isn't a good enough excuse to get beat up. _dry.gif

Ok, so, A wanted to know what B told me and C. So on another convo, he's all like TELL ME, TELL ME, TELL ME.. being all annoying and stuff, well without much thought I replied back saying - "ok I'll tell you later." And soooo! Now he wants to know what the big secret was, but I don't want to tell him because I don't want him to know that I know he's got not much friends at school anymore and assume that I think he's a 'loser' because of that. But at the same time, I don't want to lie and say that B told me something else. pinch.gif

Should I tell him that I know that he's got no friends anymore and is hated by lots people?

Sorry that wasn't too clear and didn't make much sense.. wacko.gif

Well.. yes and no.

"B told me about you getting jumped, that's all."

Leave out the part about him having no friends.

Just tell him it's something personal between you and your friend. There's no need to tell him what your friend told you, but there's no need to lie about it, either—you just need to say it's personal and tell him to drop it.

Tell him, but not everything. Make yourself innocent somehow but let him know what's happening to him.

Just bring up the topic of his friends not hanging out with him anymore or something, and let him tell you.

You obviously shouldn't lie to him.

You don't need to make him feel bad about himself, or worse about himself.

If you think he's annoying too, then maybe you should re-evaluate your feelings for him.

Although, my boyfriend annoys me a lot, but I love him to death.
Lol.

Tell "A", maybe he should watch what he says sometimes.
Or, that a lot of people take insult humor seriously.

I had to learn that one the hard way, just as it seems your friend "A" did.

What makes you think B is trustworthy? Angry people aren't always reliable.
And your B friend sounds like an absolute dumbass. Why does it matter to her if A got jumped? Why would she want to tell you? or C?

It's just stupid gossip; I don't know why you give a damn what she said.

Just tell A that you weren't thinking clearly when you said that you were going to tell him what happened, because you're not going to. If he can't deal with that... then screw him and tell him to grow up.
