![]() So no, there's no "hence the word: theory". You don't know what a theory is. You have no conception of science. That's simply ignorance, which can thankfully be rectified by learning, as long as you're willing to, um, actually learn. First of all, no I am not stupid and I don't think you are either since I don't believe it's right to bash another person for what they believe and I've never been high in my whole entire life and don't wish to be. Yes, I have read your responses and they make no sense. I know what I Theory is....like I've stated before a Theory is a THEORY...a guess on how they think something works. Evolution is a theory not a fact. If it wasn't a theory it wouldn't be called a theory but a law..it would say "Evolutionary Law". Yes, they are predictions, but predictions are just merely "guess's of what they think will happen in the future not what they know will happen in the future". As for Gravity, at one point that was a Theory but was proven right so it is no longer called a "theory" but a "law" hence the word Law of Gravity. Evolution has been proven wrong and is still a Theory, it hasn't been proven, therefore it's a "guess". You can go ahead and disrespect me, it really doesn't bother me cause it only makes you look like the bad person here, not me. Plus, it's against the board rules. Ps: Yes, I have actually "learned". Oh wow...you edited your posts, why? |

QUOTE Yes, you are right this is a debate. I just noticed in a lot of your debates against me you came off a little rude or disrespectful but if your not trying to be it's okay I understand. I just don't want someone switching around and thinking something negative just because my beliefs are different then theirs. Really? Man I'll have to go back and look at what I've said... I hope I havent been like that. I'm honestly not trying to be. QUOTE I do have a Question though. Were you ever a Christian? I was looking at your post saying how some of your family members were baptist and stuff..so I was kinda curious. Most of my family members all believe in God but they aren't Christians. Yes... loosely though. I was never raised religiously... even though my Mom's family is Baptist. I just knew that God created everything, that he loved me, and that I was going to go to Heaven. But when I went to a Christian school in 6th grade (where I've been ever since), I was saved the first day of school. I remember thinking "OMG, If I dont believe this, I'm going to Hell?!?!?!" But after being "saved", I off and on doubted things. I never 100% believed. This went on till about a year and half ago... and I've slowly moved away from Christianity. It's not that I'm unwilling to conform or follow rules - because I'm not rebellious at all. Most people still think I'm a goody goody. But yeah... I could never completely believe what I was being taught. So I completely blocked off everything I was learning at school, and started reading my Bible and researching on my own... which just made me believe even less. My Mom's entire family is originally Southern Baptist, but most now are more Lutheran-ish (is that even a word?) and Primitive Baptist. Now my Dad's side on the other hand... his dad was really brainy and logical... and was never saved. I'm pretty sure he was agnostic... maybe even an atheist. And my dad's mom is originally Jewish. She grew up during WW2 in East Germany... so they pretty much HAD to cover all that up. So they put up a false front and claimed to be Roman Catholic... and even regularly attended Mass. Neither of her parents were really religious though. Growing up there, during Hitler's time, she was taught all kinds of garbage and ended up being more of an athiest - or was at least influenced that way. She's Baptist now though. ![]() |

Evolution has been proven wrong and is still a Theory, it hasn't been proven, therefore it's a "guess". No, no, and no. The law of universal gravitation (aka "the law of gravity") is not the theory of gravity, and in equating the two you have just proven that you don't, in fact, know what a scientific theory is. In science, a "law" explains what occurs—e.g. objects accelerate towards the center of the earth—whereas a "theory" explains why something occurs. Laws generally are described using mathematically modeling—e.g. F=mg, for example. The theory of gravity has never been and never will be proven, but the theory of gravity explains, through observation and prediction, why the law of universal gravitation is correct. With respect to evolution, the theory of evolution shows, through demonstration, observation, and correct future predictions, how life changes forms in very subtle but important ways. There is no law because there can be no "law of evolution"; laws generally employ mathematical models, which don't strictly apply here. So, in sum, no, you still don't know what a scientific law is, meaning I am correct in stating you haven't learned anything, and only a fool continues to argue a point when she has been proven wrong. |

She's Baptist now though. ![]() That's how I was too, I was brought up to believe that God existed and that he loves all, which is true, he does love all but I was never taught that I needed church, the Bible or to follow any rules in order to get to Heaven but of course I was taught by my mother who was and never has been a practicing Christian, I didn't become saved until I was 23yrs old but I kept falling away from God and the religion because my Faith wasn't strong enough and because I was forced into it by an ex friend trying to scare me into religion by telling me if I didn't do this I'd go to Hell but after doing some serious thinking about it I decided to re-submit my life to God for the "right" reasons and now my Faith is more stronger than it used to be and no one is pulling me back from it. Normally, I probably would of come to these forums and listened to what evolutionist say, falling into it and steering my heart away from God but my Faith is a lot stronger now that I'm grasping onto him and not letting anyone steer me away from it. None of my family are practicing Christians and don't honestly see themselves as being a Christian but my mom does but that is only because shes thinks a Chirstian is a person who believes in God when it's more than that. So, in sum, no, you still don't know what a scientific law is, meaning I am correct in stating you haven't learned anything, and only a fool continues to argue a point when she has been proven wrong. Well, I was told that the law of gravity has been proven and that at one point it was a theory and now it's a law...but idk, that's just what I heard like I said, I don't claim I know everything. Yeah, I know what evolution is but it still is a theory, an idea, a guess to try to explain how things work but we don't know 100% sure on everything therefore it's called a theory and hasn't yet been proven. As I said before, if evolution was in fact believed to be true it would of been all over the news - "Evolution Has Been Proved". Oh I have learned plenty of things, maybe not everything in the world but who has? I try not to study science that much since a lot of lies are done by science and I tend to listen to what God tells me is true rather then someone that lies to me. Not saying I don't study science, I do occasionally, it's actually rather interesting and I do like learning it but from what I learned a scientific theory is a theory conjectured by scientists on guess's to try to explain certain things..not facts...but guess's...as I have said if evolution or anything else has been proven right it would say "fact" or "law" next to it. But hey that's just my opinion but I gaurentee it's not just mine alone. |

I know... I've been wondering the same thing. I'm guilty though.

So do you want to start this Jesus topic back up or shall I? lol. I wasn't, I'm being for real. It's called "standing up for yourself". I saw what he said as a "put down". So yeah ![]() |

Alright!
I guess I'll start by bringing back the topic of Jesus being God. Here's an article that explains it: http://www.christiananswers.net/kids/ednk-jesusgodorman.html Debate! ![]() |
