Alright, well, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I suppose if it's not, it will be moved.
=]

Anyways, back to the point!
My boyfriend finally let me talk him into getting a faux hawk.
If any of you don't know what they look like, here;

He got it cut at the right length, but his hair's really thick &curly,
so it's hard for us to spike it.
We've tried wax, but it's just not working.
I was thinking of wax &hairspray, would that work?

Or, if any of you have them, or know someone who has them,
Please let me know which is the best/fastest/easiest way to do style them.

=]]

Gel? blink.gif
There's a guy in my PE class that has a fohawk and he uses a whole mess of gel.

You could always straighten his hair and then gel it.

His hair's too short to straighten, I used to straighten it when it was longer.
His hair just flops over, when we use gel, or wax.
I think, tomorrow, I'm going to try hairspray, &probably buy something for faux hawks.

Thanks anyways.

I have a friend who uses egg yolks. Kinda messy, though.

When all else fails, use Elmer's Glue.

I think it'd be easier if you straightened his hair first. Get glue. Glue works much better than wax, because it dries super hard. And then top it off with hairspray.

yeah; i've heard that glue has worked. You could also try some type of molding paste. Since his hair is thick and curly; straightening it first would be the way to go; it's be easier to style and it won't flop over because his hair is heavy and unbalanced.

it really depends on how thick your hair is. garnier fructis has some good ones, their pure fix would work or anyof they're super hold gels. when i do my faux hawk i use a paste from American crew. i use Fiber but they also hav pomade which is good also.

very important that your hair is dry when you form your faux hawk!!!!!!

http://garnierfructisusa.com/
go there, and then go 2 style videos>texturize>then click on the video with the faux hawk

I don't mean Elmer's glue, I mean actual hair glue. They sell it in beauty stores. This little yellow tube of paste/glue by Got2B works very well. I forgot what it's called though.

I knew a girl in middle school, who used elmer's glue in her hair.
That's ridiculous.

Anyways, we went out and got a few different products.
I think his Mom ended up spending close to $200, because she didn't want him using anything cheap.
rotfl.

&about straightening his hair, it doesn't help much.
He complains too much when I do it anyway.

That's stupid.
A lot of times, cheap hair shit works the best.

I've heard of using egg yolks as well. I think you should try both super stick gel and hairspray. It might work!

I usually spend under $40 for all of my hair stuff, but his Mom's all hopped up on spending lots of money.
